To all the Curry haters !!!!

Notice all the small things he's been doing for us this game ... no points so far .. but that's ok.
He had that great foul on a raptor turnover when portland had the numbers and would have scored for sure ... smart enough to do it before they got over the halfcourt line too ... result = raptors had time to setup the defence for the inbound pass, force a turnover, get the stop, head back up court for an easy deuce !!

Then he had that great screen .. allowing VC to get clear, catch the pass and take it to the hoop for 2 .. and there was a looseball foul on the play where Archie took and made his first free throw as a raptor ... result = heads up play and three points !!

That's what verteran defender brings to the game !!

Give the guy a break kids .. and realize Curry isn't here as a scorer ... he's here as a defender ... and in this game its just what the boys need

Halftime score Raps 43 Balzers 33 (and its all cause of great D!)

Curry will always have his critics, but that doesn't matter. He has fallen into a groove with this team and is becoming an important part of our rotation.

Ok, todays game. Before we all get too excited, we have to keep in mind that this isn't the Raptors team that shows up every night. If we play like this 1/3 games, we're lucky. I wish we could play like this every night, but that's a pretty easy thing to say.

Archibald won't play this well every game. He is a "lunchpail" player, like Chuck and Leo were saying. Archie played better than anyone expected and made a big difference on the defensive end. His shot was pretty ugly, but he's working off some rust. Plus, he is getting rebounds and going for put-backs, and he gave us 5 good fouls. Can't ask for much more! KO wanted to see what he could do, and Archie came through in a big way. This is how you impress the coach, Lamond...

Lonny was ok. He didn't have a spectacular game, but he gave us about what we can expect. Hard play, good rebounding, some shotblocking presence in the paint, and even a soft little curl-shot that he has down. How could Chicago give up on this guy? The more I think about the trade, the more I wonder if Toronto got the best four players of the eight that switched.

Vince was pure effort today. He didn't put up 30 or make a lot of highlight-reel plays, but he was a defensive fiend with 4 blocks and 3 steals. 20 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 44% shooting? I'll take that any day of the week. He hasn't totally redeemed himself for his string of lackluster games, but this is a step in the right direction. When he plays well, the whole team responds.

Overall I thought we had a great game. Portland was flat, and that helped a bunch, but we kept them from killing us inside, especially in the second half, and forced them to take jumpshots. We rebounded, went inside, passed the ball, blocked shots, kept our turnovers from getting out of control, adjusted to zone defence when they threw it at us.. a great team game for everyone.

Anyone notice Vranes on the Blazer's bench? Damn that guy is tall. I was hoping they would put him in at garbage time, cause I've seen very little of him, but nope. Oh well. I don't think Toronto missed out by not going after this kid.

Life without Bosh is 1-1 so far. If we can stay at .500 without him, I think we'll be in pretty good shape going into the all-star break.

The only way Arch is passing these guys is in a car on the freeway... bad joke, ok, but realistic.
