Possible Nets package includes expiring deal of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shenglia and three first-round picks, sources tell Y!

There's no indication that Garnett has yet to be consulted about waiving his no-trade clause for such a possible deal, sources tell Y!

Re: KG and Pierce to Brooklyn??

If it's '13, '15, and '17 the 2017 is the only pick of any worth, because the twenties in this draft nobody wants and Atlanta has the right to swap picks in 2015, meaning even if the team bottoms out the pick can't be that high. If it's '14, '16, and '18 with little/no protection on 16 and 18.........I'm begrudgingly listening.

13 15 and 17 is pretty useless but I'm perfectly fine with 14 16 and 18. Nets are putting together an old team that could fall off pretty quick.

I'm almost certain, however, that the picks are 22 and 26 this year plus that 2015 first that Atlanta can swap with. In other words, no thanks.

So we're saying their starters would be Deron Williams/Joe Johnson/Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett/Brook Lopez? That would be the oldest team in the league.

So I'd love to see them try to win with that core, but they will have to distribute the minutes super-carefully during the regular season if they hope to have even 4 out of the 5 of them healthy for the playoffs.

Good move for the Nets, honestly. They're not going to have a better chance at a title with the roster they have now. Might as well give it a shot.

Deron/Joe Johnson/Pierce/Garnet/Lopez is a high quality starting 5.

Maybe 2 years let out of KG and Pierce. That Russian would be crazy to make a deal.
Its not a terrible deal. Its the best they can hope for right now because they are not gonna get anyone else.

Makes so much sense for the Nets. Paul Pierce's contract comes off the book quicker than Wallace's. And renting last legs of KG/PP doesn't sound like a bad idea.

This also confirms Celtics' intention to go all in on rebuilding mode, piling up on the picks and passing up on DeAndre.

No, because Wallace has 3/30 remaining the Celtics rejected any '13 picks. The deal is allegedly the '14 pick plus '16 & '18. And since the deal would be consummated tonight all three picks will need to be conveyed within six years, so those '16 & '18 picks could be gold.

I'm not thrilled with it, and the primary benefit is that the resulting Celtics team would be so bad that it would land a top six pick next year.

Wallace was once worth close to what that contract pays him, but damn you'd better make those some really good picks before I take it now. For the Nets this is about the only way they can improve their roster and give themselves something of a chance to compete. There really aren't many other moves open to them.

Celtics and Nets continue to make significant progress on parameters of a Garnett-Pierce deal, sources in talks tell Y! Sports.

For Boston to get Garnett to agree to waive his no trade, it takes a unique circumstance: Moving with Pierce to a big market might be it.

Boston had raised the Garnett-Pierce package with a Western Conference team, but very few places, if any, would go all-in like Nets on this.
