What do you guys think about this? Some other sites have talked about this trade happening. Would it be a good trade for the Lakers?

Not a bad trade. I would like Swift to match up with Duncan etc...

I dont think Jerry West would trade a guy with Stromile Swifts potential for a guy who will be average even if he reaches his full potential. Remmeber Stromile was the 2nd pick in the draft a couple years back and was being billed as the guy who could become a big time player. So the for this trade to happen, first LA would have to resign Devean, then i think they'd have to throw in something else, maybe a couple of 1st round picks?

I think a trade of Devean and a 1st next year and the next 2 2nd Rders would be a fair trade, but this how Sean Deveney of the Sportingnews feels about how Swift would fit in the Triangle Offense.

Its the last question 2 him at the the bottom of the page. I disagree with what he says. I think Shaq and kobe could would keep him in check and make him a better player.

Also if you are wonderng about my name I am not a Celtic fan but a BIG LAKERS FAN but the sight says I had already registered(which isn't true) and as of right now I can't change my name

I don't know where Swift would fit in....we have a ton of PF's-and if Slava re-signs(which I want to happen)-It will get really crowded.-Can he play SF?-well I guess that would be a bad idea-if we want Kobe to play the wing more.

Send a PM to Ron and give him alternate name or two and he will change your name. Sounds like your other name was registered but never activated ? Explain that to Ron also and see what he can do. :)

Devean George is a free agent. You can't trade what you don't have.

If the Lakers sign George, they definitely won't trade him.

I think Swift for George is a good trade

Well, for the Lakers. I don't know what they Grizzlies would do with George. Can he play the 2? I always thought he was a 3, but if he can play the 2 then it's good for both sides. Yes, Swift was the second pick, but he's been a disappointment so far and I've read at least two or three atricles that mentioned that West wasn't too high on the guy. He was a number 2 pick but not West's number 2 pick. I think he really likes George and thinks his style of play would fit in well with Memphis.

Stromile Swift is eaisly the best talent we can get for George. Considering he is a FA, we should try not to be picky.

Swifthasn't had a disappointing career. He did average 13ppg last year. I just don't think he is the type of player that the Lakers need.

Actually it was 11.8 points a game last season

And with Gasol I don't think they really need Swift. He'll probably leave as a free agent when he can because being the number 2 pick usually means starter's minutes, so he'll go somewhere he can get that, whether or not he really deserves it or not.

Something not really related, when I looked up his scoring average for last season I noticed that he scored 31 in the last game of the season against Seattle. It doesn't really mean much, but it's sort of interesting.
