I've got mixed emotions on this one. It's a guarantee that a middie will make the round of eight, but both of those teams look very capable, wish they were going to match up against some majors.SaintlySaint said:

Mason/UNC game today. UNC absolutely took the wood to GMU the first 4 minutes or so. It was so bad I thought I was watching a Siena/Rider game
Anyway, GMU plays Wichita State in the Wash. DC bracket next Friday. Isn't this a rematch of the bracket buster game at Wichita State earlier this year?
Also, it was my first time thoroughly watching Mason and they are brutes. They outbanged UNC, strange watching a major have to resort to the non-contact game to beat a middie.SaintlySaint said:Being here in DC today, I saw the Geo. Mason/UNC game today. This is why I tell anyone who will listen that you cannot compete int his game without size. Everyone on the Siena board tells me mid-majors can't get good big players. However, I'm watching all these mid-majors kicking butt in the tourney with them. So I guess the middies can get good big men too after all. The ones that do win games in the torunament.SaintlySaint said:One of my observations about the 'mid majors' that have battled and/or beaten the majors is that the mid majors has played 'straight up', going inside, guards driving to the basket, etc instead of launching a bunch of 3s. Such was definitely the case with George Mason today. That game was the featured game here in DC. Heck, even SUNY Albany played UConn straight up.
I noticed the same. If you watched that game not knowing who the teams were and had to guess which one was the middie I think you would have had a hard time. George Mason kinda turned the tables actually, I believed they dominated the inside game with that mack truck.SaintlySaint said:One of my observations about the 'mid majors' that have battled and/or beaten the majors is that the mid majors has played 'straight up', going inside, guards driving to the basket, etc instead of launching a bunch of 3s.
