After the game on the Fan 590's Sports Report they stated that MLSE had a meeting between the board of governers about Grunwald's future, in which they discussed a contract extension.

The board meeting was a regularly scheduled one and GG's contract was not discussed.

GG gave the board an update on the team and his plans for the trade deadline and the future of the team.

Senior management has indicated that GG is safe and that he will be taken care of before the end of the season.

If we don't make the playoffs those words will mean nothing and GG will be gone. But we should clearly be a 5 or 6 seed, with potential for the 4 spot.

Stability is good for the franchise. Players seem to like GG and he treats them fairly and honestly. Important to have that reputation when going for FA's.

I think NBA players respect the Toronto franchise. They just wish it was in the US and had a warmer winter.

I Think keeping him is a good move. This guy is truely trying to make the team as competitive as possible. Things didn't always work out as planned, but he did make moves thatwere made to help the team. I can't think of one trade that at the time it was a terrible trade. Signing Hakeem was a great move at the time, and everyone was happy that he was coming to TO...now obviously everyone thinks it was a really bad move because of how he turned out, but GG can't control when a player retires. So yeah GG hasn't wrecked the team like some GMs in the league have, and for the most part he has done an excellent job as GM.
