With all the players the warriors have now, not including draft pics...

WHO SHOULD BE TRADED AND FOR WHOM.. smart trades here people... not lop sided trades...

Steve Logan - PG DECENT POINT
Gilbert Arenas - PG/SG BOBBY JACKSON TYPE PLAYER
Bob Sura - PG/SG GOOD COMBO GUARD/ TRADE BAIT?
Jason Richardson - SG ( CAN YOU SAY POTENTIAL )
Jiri Welsch- PG/SG/SF ( GOOD SHOOTER )
Mike Dunleavy- SF ( A MARKSMAN IN SOME MANNER )
Troy Murphy - PF/C ( STILL IMPROVING & GROWING )
Adonal Foyle - PF/C ( BEN WALLACE TYPE DEFENSE )
Eric Dampier - C ( NEEDS TO BE TRADED )
Danny Fortson - PF ( NEEDS TO BE TRADED )

Chris Mills - FA (free agent )
Cedric Henderson - FA
Mookie Blaylock - FA
Dean Oliver - FA

I really doubt the W's are going resign any of these free agents... and I hope they don't...

Who should we trade? for whom? Why? REALISTIC TRADE SCENARIOS HERE PEOPLE, NOT PIPE DREAM TRADES OR LOP SIDED TRADES..!

Okay, here's a suggestion that works on realgm.com (for what that's worth)...

GS sends Fortson (maybe with a second round draft pick or two) to Seattle for Calvin Booth.

The salaries match up well. Seattle a wide body who can rebound reliably, and I could see a forward rotation of Lewis, Radmanovic and Fortson working out alright. Re-signing Jerome James means they may be able to afford to let Booth go, especially if Drobnjak can earn some minutes at the 5.

GS gives up a player who doesn't fit that well with their emerging rotation, and strengthens their center position, which looks like their weak link at this point.

Both players have question marks attached to them--Fortson is one-dimensional, Booth is coming off a major injury and hasn't yet shown he's worth his big contract.

So the teams are basically trading risks, but I think they each end up with a stronger rotation as a result.

What do you think?

GS sends Danny Fortson to the Lakers for Samaki Walker and Tracy Murray. It works under the cap. It gives the Warriors a young back-up center with potential, and a veteran shooting specialist. It also unloads them of Fortson's large contract. And, Jamison will play PF this year, so Fortson would be on the bench anyway.

I kinda like the swap of Fortson for Walker and Murray, as long as the dollars add up. Fortson isn't the most versatile player, but the Lakers wouldn't need him to do much. I imagine they would be thrilled if he could average 10 and 10, use fouls wisely and play at least average defense. That would be an improvement over Walker. They could use a spot-up shooter like Tracy Murray, but there are others out there.

As for Golden State, they get two limited but useful solid bench players in exchange for a player who would've been a grouch about having to come off the bench.

That'd be a good trade.

I've heard rumors that Golden State could strike a deal with the Sixers for Dikembe Mutumbo. It would look like this:

Golden State receives Mutumbo & Damone Brown
Philadelphia receives Danny Fortson, Chris Mills & Eric Dampier.

Larry Brown has apparently wanted to make a deal for Fortson for some time.

With Mutumbo, GS can afford to part with Dampier, and even get rid of Adonal Foyle...(hell, even withour Mutumbo, GS could afford to do that).

Chris Mills won't be around in two years anyway, and he's old...give the job to Dunleavy.

This could actually give the Warriors a long-shot chance to make the playoffs. If Arenas keeps playing the way he did the second half of the season, this could be a great, young team. Arenas only has to play the point for a season until GS signs Kidd to a long-term contract after this season.

Too much rambling...I'm out

Im just not keen on Mutombo's monster contract

He's contract might not be as long as Forston and Damp's combined.. but that's about 18-20 mil.. if I am not mistaken fo mutombo's contract a yr. I would not let mills walk unless I get a contract that is up the same time as mills is.. which is next year.. GSW wants cap space for next year.. to make a run at KIDD or PAYTON... THIS IS FACT.. THEY WANT THESE HOMETOWN BOYS BACK...

No joke...they're picking up Kidd next summer, and that's what I said in my earlier post. But the facts over the long haul regarding the Mutumbo trade scenario look like this:

GS picks up around $54 million over the long haul
GS gets rid of around $60 million over the long haul

I do believe that Damone Brown's deal is up next year as well, so that would be the player that GS gets whose contract is up the same time as Mills.

This deal gives them more cap space to sign Kidd, so what was it that you were saying again?

People!

Jason Kidd WILL NOT sign with Golden State next summer, it WILL NOT HAPPEN. Besides, they won't have the cap space to make him (or anybody else) a max offer, anyway.

Shaq's contract starts getting bigger and bigger and BIGGER over the next several seasons--so the Lake Show won't want to take on Danny Fortson's awful four-year deal. However, I think the Lakers need to replace Brian Shaw, who has seen his better days--Bobby Sura's contract is up after just two seasons, so I can see the Lakers trading Samaki Walker and Tracy Murray for Sura.

Please, do not talk about how the Warriors "could use a spot-up shooter like Tracy Murray"--if the Warriors dump Sura or Fortson for Samaki Walker and Tracy Murray, it will be ONLY because these dudes' contracts are up after next season. Murray will sit at the end of the bench for Golden State and never touch the floor. He'll never touch the floor for the Lake Show, either--ever heard of Mitch Richmond? Although Samaki Walker would back up Adonal Foyle in the event that Erick Dampier gets traded.

I'd like to see the Warriors trade Dampier to Portland, who is desperate for a center. I have some ideas, but they get a little complicated (they involve Phoenix and Cleveland), so never mind!

In any event, YES, the Warriors NEED to dump Dampier, Fortson, and Sura. THIS SUMMER.

I guess I should just take your word that Kidd won't sign with GS, right? I should ignore the fact that Kidd wants to be back in the Bay Area (where he and his wife are from, and where they have a house). I should ignore the fact that Kidd is intrigued by taking another Lottery team deep in the playoffs.

With dumping the salaries of the players you mentioned, GS will have the cap room to offer Kidd the Max.

Know your facts and then you might have some validity behind your opinionated statements

Why not? I'm not saying Kidd will sign with GSW next season, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility. Teams in the past have been able to clear cap room to sign players.
