theres no sane reason to why bowen gets game-time
"A lot of our guys are at the crossroads of their careers," Van Gundy said. "Some know it, and some don't. Individually and as a team, we have a lot to play for, regardless of where we stand in the standings."
In other words, Gumby knows Bowen doesn't belong in this league either. If he KNOWS he sucks, why does he play him? Because he's trying to him Bowen a chance to prove himself?"Certainly Wesley's trying to secure a future in this league," Van Gundy said. "Bogans is trying to secure a future. Luther may never have it better than he has it this year, right now, to carve out a career for himself.
"Rafer is trying to prove (whether he is) a 24-minute-a-game guy for a good team, 32-minute or 36-minute. That is to be answered. Chuck is trying to carve out a career and be able to stay on a team. I think Ryan (Bowen) has had a worse year than he had last year. He's going to have to try to figure out how to stay in this league. Deke (Dikembe Mutombo), is it still important to him? Does he want to continue on in his career?
That's such a nice thing to consider! I don't know though, last year Houston was one of only two NBA teams that even courted the idea of bringing him on... I don't think that JVG or anyone in the Rockets organization is scared that someone will steal Chuck out from under the team.Pasha The Great said:Actually he hasnt been getting much play time this year.
I was thinking about why JVG doesn't play chuck all that much, and it came to me while reading that article.. what if hes trying to hide chucks skills so that nobody else will try and pick him up next year because of his expiring contract?
