OT Notes, Ex Hartford commits, Vasic and Petrusev.

Vasic looks to have fully recovered from his ACL tear, still in a reserve role for Charlotte.

Petrusev is absolutely dominating for Gonzaga avg nearly 20 pts and 9 rebounds...

Those guys committed because of Imo Simovic and when he left, they both decommitted. This was about the time Ryan Daly also decommitted and went on to become CAA Rookie of the Year at Delaware (he's now moved on to St. Joseph's where he is averaging 21 ppg as a junior).

Imagine having Petrusev....crazy.

What is interesting is the younger brother of Petrusev plays at Avon Old Farms. The new coach at Avon Old Farms is Matt Mihalich who was an asset at Hartford the last 3 years. Curious if we are in on him at all.

Daly was an interesting guy.....was very under recruited. I think Gal was friendly with Daly’s father who I think was a high school coach. We already had fall signings which filled up our allotment. Then Daly verballed to Hartford after that. I think the assumption was someone would leave which did not happen. So Daly moved on. Then in AUGUST Pancake announces he was leaving. If he only made that decision in May.

The other one that was a big loss of a commitment we had ( and this one was signed) was a while ago. Larry Harrison has signed a center ( name escapes me). We released him when Leibovitz came on board. He went on to have a very good career at south Florida.

Jarrid Famous decommitted after Larry Harrison was let go and went to junior college. By the time he was ready to transfer for his junior year, Jim Calhoun (and other Big East schools) had offered him a scholarship.

What could have been with a little luck :)

Hartford seems to have been brought back down to reality. Any word on Ellison? This has now turned into a 4 week absence basically, this sounds like an extensive injury...

I've always wondered why most teams are so quiet on the injuries on their players. I can understand in the pros, but, in AE college basketball, it wouldn't hurt to acknowledge at least some sort of timeline for their player. Unless they did already and I missed it somewhere. The team seems to be entering a slump, it'd be nice to know as to when they will be getting their so called 'best player' in the lineup...

I don't know any specifics but do see the last few Hartford games Ellison has been out of the boot and seems to be walking ok. Hopefully that means he is back soon as Hartford needs an injection. Right now the young guys have talent but nobody is a go to guy. Hopefully Ellison can be more of that though I think scoring is less of his strength compared to defense & rebounding.

Ellison looked good. A little rusty, but, solid player. Reminds me a little of Nwakamma. Same size, body type, with better athleticism.

Any Rumors on Gallagher’s tenure? I believe he is in the last year of his deal? Are they going to give yet another extension or let him walk and look for a new coach?

I think Hartford got a verbal from Rastislav “Rasta” Sipkovsky . He used to play on the same team as Stafl at GBA academy. Rasta was the 4 Stafl the 5.

Kingman has been out injured this season. Was supposed to make a big impact this year. He already had his knee surgery 2 months ago and today has shoulder surgery. Hopefully he will be good to go next season.

solid solid win for the Hawks. Team win. Bench push in the first half was really good to see. See what happens when you find PJ Henry minutes? He makes plays. Although this was a nice bright spot for the team, PJ didn't see the 2nd half, which was surprising. I really like DJ Mitchell, but I think Gal can find a better mix of sprinkling PJ in during games to find scoring chances. DJ has been off the past 4 games. I get it that PJ is primarily a PG, and Gal wants to use him to spell Carter, but he's gotta find time for the freshman. He plays well! anyways, don't want to take away from the solid win. Hope they keep the momentum going against UVM and gives them a really good game
