Hartford Recruit Famous "not sure where he'll end up"

6'9' Jarrid Famous who had signed a letter of intent for Hartford, is not sure he'll be at Hartford next year. Bad news for the Hawks. The article is mainly about teammate Curtis Dennis who has interest from Boston University, but has yet to qualify:

ugghh....He is the one recruit that I really want to come here. Hopefully we finalize our coach this week and Famous feels comfortable with him. We need a heck of a lot of players and I'd like to take advantage of this upcoming signing period. The big advantage in getting Glen Miller as coach...if they do is that he is already a coach and would have his recruiting ties all in place already. At least short term I think he'd be able to get players in here so we can field a team.
I saw Famous on Saturday in Glens Falls, NY in the NY State Federation Title Game. Here are my notes...

#42....6'9"...long...athletic....this is the type of kid who gets people fired (whoops)...was benched by his coach the last 9 minutes of game....sat on bench and didn't support his teammates...never left the bench during time outs of a very close game....awful body language....received all tournament selection and had to be dragged out of lockerroom to receive award, then wouldn't pose for picture with others....left court with head in towel....has a good frame....will fill out to have great body for college basketball....question....is he going to grow up? maturity? potential should be a four-letter word....if he goes DI, coach better have long term contract and not need him immediately.

When I arrived, he played outstanding the first 15 minutes, but really, really needs to grow up and put the TEAM first. I was shocked that this kid choose the State Title game to pout and be a baby!

Notes on Curtis Dennis, who was mentioned above....

#33 ....6'4"...solid frame....good athlete..finishes well....plays hard....competes...good frame, which will only fill out and get stronger....possible low-mid DI prospect....definite NE10 caliber All League type (strong guard who dominates that league- no position- makes plays)...needs to work on perimeter game ....low DI follow this spring

Well, you know what they say, some of the best deals are the ones you don't make.

Maybe Hartford dodged a bullet.

Information like this is exactly why I love this board. Good stuff. Thanx for the info Urban legend (though I certainly wish it was more positive but nevertheless). Those coach killer kinds of kids can go either way. Gomes on Providence was always thought of a risk to colleges in that he could be a coach killer. You should post more on here Urban.
