The Miami Heat signed Caron Butler, the 10th overall pick in the NBA draft,on Wednesday.

Butler a 6-foot-6,220 pound forward from Connecticut,is a slasher and a scorer with a reputation for playing his best in BIG games --
all attributes the Heat lacked last season as they finished with a 36-46 record, sixth in the seventh-team Atlantic Division.

Small forward was the weakest position last season on coach Pat Riley's roster.

Butler didnt miss a game because of injury in two seasons at UConn. He finished his college career with 1,136 points,477 rebounds,190 assists and 143 steals. He shot 46.5 percent from the field, including 36.4 percent from 3-point range, and 76.8 percent from the free throw line.

He also scored in double digits in all but one of his 63 college games.

Butler is participating in the Heats summer workouts, the team said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but under the NBA's rookie wage scale last years No. 10 pick,Joe Johnson of Arkansas, signed with the Boston Celtics for a three-year deal worth within 20 percent of $4.3 million.

U guys are the 2nd best basketball team in Florida.
Now thats :laugh::laugh::laugh:!

Add one or two of these FA to the team below Best/George/Billups/Keon or Rose,Im hoping for Billups!

C - Zo/Step/Marks
PF - B.G./Ellis/Johnson
SF - Butler/J.J.
SG - E.J./House
PG - Billups/Strick/A.C.

IR - Allen/Brown/James

SORRY bro,but thats not just the BEST team in Florida, its one of the top 3 teams in the East!

Not to mention that Zo/B.G./E.J./House and A.C. have chemistry,in other words, this will be their 4th season playing together.

Teams look good on paper, but that means nothing. The Raptors were favorites in the East last season and they barely made the playoffs. The Bucks who had a great roster last season, didn't make the playoffs. The Heat may look good on paper, but the Magic look good on paper and on the court. McGrady and Hill will make sure the Heat are the 2nd best team in Florida.

The only reason the Raps didnt go deep into the play-offs is cuz their entire team was injury plagued! As for the Bucks, well G-Rob had a bad wheel ALL season, and MA$E DESTROYED their team chemistry and unity, thats why we let him go!

T-Mac and Hill will make sure the Heat are the 2nd best team in Florida.
WHAT???

Im NOT gonna say a damn thing about T-Mac,cuz hes one of my top 3 favorite ballers, but lets talk about Hill. Its pretty fair to say that Hill HASNT played in almost 2 years,u think hes gonna come right in,and be the player he once was?!Do u realize his career could end, just by someone stepping on his foot?Yes Hill could come back and be GREAT,but their is a STRONG possibility that he could come back a VERY timid and careful player, which could end up getting him hurt.

The Magic look good on paper and on the court.
Once again,WHAT???

Ur frontcourt consists of Ewing/Grant,and from what Ive seen on the Magic board, their lookn to add Oak to the mix?Im pretty sure that would be the OLDEST frontcourt in the history of the league?

I think O-Town has to many ??? to be the best team in Florida,or one of the top 3 in the East.

Hill hasn't been out for 2 seasons, he has played in both. And that makes a big difference. It may have been short but those 18 games he's played help him from not losing his game as much as he would not having played at all in 2 years. And when I said they were good on paper, I was refering to guys like T-Mac, Hill, Miller, Armstrong, Hudson(he had a good year). And just because Ewing and Horace are old doesnt mean anything. I admit Ewing sucks but Horace played great for us and I hope he comes back.

I think what hes trying to say is that T-Mac just like K.G.,cant take his team deep into the play-offs alone.

Hill hasn't been out for two seasons, hes played in both.
So what ur sayn is that Hill's played in 18 out of 164 games?Sorry dude, but thats WORSE then Camby's average of 28 games a season!

The bottom line is that NO ONE knows if Hill will ever be the same baller he once was,or if he will even be 75% of what he once was!Hills ankle will NEVER be 100% again, hes got all kinds of surgical steel and titanium holding it together!Someone stepping on his foot when he tries to cut,or landing awkward on that foot, could END his career!

For T-Mac's sake,I hope Hill comes back AWESOME,but lets NOT make any assumptions until we've seen him play.

Lets see anyone carry their team big when one of the star players is out, and your starting PF is Pat Garrity:dead: What do you expect from a team like that? Finals? McGrady took them to the max..he deserves some respect.

I totally agree that T-Mac deserves respect,we NEVER said he didnt!:no:In my opinion T-Mac is one of the top 3 ballers in this league, but like u said, even he CANT get the jobe done with a frontcourt that consists of Ewing/Grant/Garrity,and injury prone swingmen like Hill/Miller!

I think the Magic should go after Keon this summer, even though I think hes staying in Toronto, and sign Oak to the vet minimum.

C - Keon
PF - Oak
SF - Hill
SG - T-Mac
PG - Armstrong
6th-man - Miller

Thats a team that can contend!
