How's KU's recruiting class coming along? I know you've got two verbals, but are those players "KU calibre?" They're not top 100 players, even top 200. Well, they are now, because whoever KU signs automatically shoots up the charts. Before long they'll be McDonald's All Americans. But neither one will live up to that. You better watch out, because Roy Williams is getting a little old, and his recruiting last year wasn't very good, and this year might end up kind of poor as well.

I got this from prepspotlight.com about the recent Nike Camp

2. J.R. Giddons 6'5 Oklahoma City, OK - His athletic drives to the hoop were amazing and he dunked on just about everyone. He was one of the biggest surprises at the camp. Folks.... Kansas has got themselves a future star.

As of K^2 just said, yes that Griddon's guy will be a very good player for Kansas. He is 6'5" guard/SF which Kansas needs. Big Guard/Athletic Small Forward. Really in the past 8 years they very only had one good SF. Paul Pierce. Kenny Gregory would have been great if he did not had back spasms. Nick Bradford was ok, but he is playing in the ABA though.

I really do not know what is going on recrutiing now. I've had check several sites lately, and here are some recruits we are going after.

Acccording to <a href="http://www.kusports.com/news/kusp_m_basketball2/story/98683">http://www.kusports.com/news/kusp_m_basketball2/story/98683</a>

The above article says what players have an interest in KU and the other way around. Tells a little bit more.

<a href="http://kansas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=110284">http://kansas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=110284</a>

The above article tells about a player who turn down on UMKC and Davidson for example to walk on to hte Kansas team next season. Those two schools are up and coming teams.

Click on the following site to see what players have interest from who. Most of them has interest in Kansas. <a href="http://kansas.rivals.com/prosearch.asp?Sport=2">http://kansas.rivals.com/prosearch.asp?Sport=2</a>

Also for very good KU recruiting updates check <a href="http://www.phog.net/">http://www.phog.net/</a>

True, KU did not had a good recruiting class for the fall compare to the year before. We have two good inside players coming in. And we have a very good Walk-on guard. I think we have another walkon forward, not sure. let you know. True Roy is getting older, but again he is still one of heck of a coach/recruiter. Snyder is a good recruiter, but coach? Jury still out. However, he did recurited some thugs lately though.

My post was supposed to be sarcastic...

I know who you've received verbals for and who's interested in coming to KU, I was just trying to mess with you a bit. Those two guys who've committed from Oklahoma aren't really that great. Giddens could be pretty good, but Case isn't much more than a coach's son. He will most likely be a pretty solid player, like Grawer was for MU, but is he a guy who fits in with a team like KU? I guess he will, Grawer would've fit in with anyone. For those who don't know who Grawer is, think of Steve Blake minus a little talent but add in a whole lot of leadership.

Your class could actually end up a top 5 class in the nation if you get some of the guys you're recruiting, like the Padgett guy from Nevada, or Butch from Wisconsin, or Keith Wooden from Lawrence. Case will be a classic KU guard. He won't be a pro player, but he'll be the kind of guy who doesn't make mistakes and always plays well. Roy likes those kinds of players, guys like Boschee and Collison, among others. I also would bet on you guys landing Thomas Gardner if you want him, but I doubt you do. He's a guard from Miles' and Lee(?)'s school in Oregon.

I think your final class will include Giddens, Case, Padgett and Wooden though, and the next year you could get yet another post player, Steven Hill from Branson, Missouri, who I've seen and is a major stiff. He's a big KU fan, and somehow rated in the top 75 in his class. All he can do is block shots. You can have him, he's the second coming of Jeff Carey, or maybe Chenowith.

One last point, about your walkons. They can't be that good, because if they were they couldn't walk on. I'm not sure of the rules, but I think if a player plays over a certain amount of time then he can't be a walkon or something like that. And your incoming post players aren't that great. The juco guy will be pretty good off the bench but the other guy is at least a year or two away from producing much.
