Jordan averaged 37 ppg when he scored over 3000 pts. Only he & Wilt ever scored 3000 or more in a season & Wilt did it a multiple of times. I don't think Kobe will pass 2900, no. It's not likely & nor is he on pace.

he currently has 2635 pts this season.
needs to score 300 pts or more in 5 games to get past 2900. otherwise average 60ppg.
obviously it isnt possible but if kobe can somehow read this, i bet you he'll try because thats wahts hes all about. trying to break every record without regard to his team.

so he needs 227 in 4 games. that's 57 a game.
2800 and change looks about right. He could probably get to 2900 had he not been suspended those two games against the Jazz. He would need 227 in 6 games, which would mean he would need 38 a game for 6 games.
Either way, 2800 and 2900 aren't much different. 3,000 is the mark that is kind of unbelievable. That's just a ridiculous amount of points to score in a season.

Ironic that the people who hate him the most, can't keep his name out of their mouth. Don't freaking post about the dude, if you don't like him. I tend to do that when I don't like a player. But hey, he (will have) led his team to the playoffs without Shaq (in a couple of days), so I guess that'll be one less argument for you people to use when proving what an incredibly terrible player he is. To stay on topic. I'm saying he goes for about 2800 as well. +30 ppg is very likely in the last 4 games, since the Lakers will need his normal contribution to secure a playoff seed.
