So fellas! Why in the WORLD would you want to trade Mike Miller and change for NAZR MOHAMMED? WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING? Nazr Mohammed IS NOT nor will he EVER BE a good NBA player! How do you not know this? Mike Miller IS a good NBA player--he's not a star, but he's GOOD! If you can trade him for a good big guy, GREAT! But why would you want to just give him away? WHAT?

ANYWAY--enough about THAT! Here are some ways that the Magic can get bigger next season! I have proposed seven trade scenarios, and when I'm done, I'll tell you which one seems to be the best one, okay? START READING!

1) Jud Buechler, Horace Grant, Patrick Ewing, Don Reid, and Jerryl Sasser to the Warriors; Danny Fortson and Erick Dampier to the Magic

The Warriors desperately want to get of these two dudes and their longterm contracts--Dampier is making $6.9 mil, $7.5 mil, $8.1 mil, and $8.3 over the next four years, while Fortson is making $4.9 mil, $5.4 mil, $5.9 mil, and $6.4 mil over the next four years. Neither dude is a star, but they would certainly each be a major upgrade over the current crap Orlando has inside.

2) Buechler, Grant, Ewing, and Reid to the Rockets; Maurice Taylor and Moochie Norris to the Magic

Houston has a TON of big longterm contracts, and they're looking at adding the #1 overall pick (who gets paid quite a bit right off the bat) and the #15 overall pick to their payroll AND they're going to have to max out Steve Francis next summer (not to mention re-signing Kenny Thomas, if they decide they want that dude)! If Houston doesn't do something to dump some salary, they're looking at a payroll of over $60 mil in 2003-04, which isn't going to work, especially for a lottery team. Taylor and Norris are both on the books for four more years each, and neither dude figures into the Rockets' longterm plans, do they? Although it's pretty obvious that the Magic can do better than this.

3) MIKE MILLER, Buechler, Grant, Ewing, Reid, and Sasser to the Grizzlies; Stromile Swift, Jason Williams, and Michael Dickerson to the Magic

Jerry West would do this deal in a SECOND, because he wants to dump the longterm contracts of Williams and Dickerson, and he doesn't want Swift taking minutes away from his three current forwards (Gasol, Gooden, Battier). Swift is the only big guy that Orlando would be getting here, and I don't particularly like the guy, but he WAS the #2 overall pick just a couple of summers ago, so who knows, maybe he'll turn out to be really good?

4) Buechler, Grant, Ewing, Reid, and Sasser to the Heat; Brian Grant to the Magic

It's pretty obvious that Brian Grant is ridiculously overpaid for what he is, but he WOULD be the best frontcourt player for Orlando IMMEDIATELY. Although beware of his contract: $11.1 mil, $12.2 mil, $13.3 mil, $14.4 mil over the next four years. What was Pat Riley THINKING?

5) MIKE MILLER, Buechler, Grant, Ewing, Reid, and Sasser to the Bucks; Tim Thomas and Anthony Mason to the Magic

Both Thomas and Mason have four years left on THEIR totally undesirable contracts--Thomas is getting $10.6 mil, $11.7 mil, $12.8 mil, and $13.8 mil over the next four years, while Mason is getting $5.0 mil, $5.4 mil, and $5.9 mil. And Thomas isn't an inside player, he's a perimeter player--and I don't know about Mason. Plus Miller is better than either one of these dudes (and cheaper!).

6) MIKE MILLER, Buechler, Grant, Ewing, Reid, and Sasser to the 76ers; Dikembe Mutombo to the Magic

This is only if the 76ers decide that they simply can't really afford Mutombo's contract anymore ($15.4 mil next year, then $17.1 mil, then $18.8 mil). Keep in mind that Mutombo isn't even CLOSE to what he was just two years ago!

7) MIKE MILLER, Buechler, Grant, Ewing, Reid, and Sasser to the Raptors; Antonio Davis and Eric Montross to the Magic

The Raptors are in a WORLD OF HURT right now financially, which is why they aren't even going to bother trying to re-sign Keon Clark, and why they made that terrible draft day deal with the Lakers (Lindsay Hunter and Chris Jefferies for Kareem Rush and Tracy Murray). Davis has four more years left on his contract ($11.5 mil, $12.8 mil, $14.1 mil, $15.4 mil) while the worthless Montross has three more years to go ($2.7 mil, $3.0 mil, $3.2 mil). Hmmm!

NOW! Which is the best trade, peoples? I don't know, I don't particularly like ANY of them! I think it's down to two--the Grizzlies trade and the Warriors trade. What do you fellers think? I'm going to vote for the Warriors trade, because I don't really care for any of the dudes in the Grizzlies trade, and because the Warriors trade gives them TWO bigs, not just ONE!

Here's what the Magic would look like if they make that deal with the Grizzlies:

PG Jason Williams--Darrell Armstrong--Jacque Vaughn
SG Tracy McGrady--Michael Dickerson
SF Grant Hill--Pat Garrity
PF Andrew DeClercq--Ryan Humphrey
C Stromile Swift (a C in the tiny East?)--Steven Hunter

And here's what the Magic would look like if they make that deal with the Warriors:

PG Jacque Vaughn--Darrell Armstrong
SG Tracy McGrady
SF Grant Hill--Mike Miller--Pat Garrity
PF Danny Fortson--Andrew DeClercq--Ryan Humphrey
C Erick Dampier--Steven Hunter

The latter team seems a lot stronger inside to me, I don't know.

Dee Bo, I totally agree.

People, I just typed the following sentence: "Dee Bo, I totally agree." What does that MEAN?

I'd like to hear other opinions on what the Magic should or should not do about their lack of an inside game.

Gotta love how little Orlando had to pay Pat Garrity to stick around--five years, $17 mil. Great deal!

I think one option they have now is Keon Clark. He is no Shaq, but there is no Shaq in the East anyways.

I think Clark is overrated, but if Orlando can get him cheap, he'd be a better starting center than Don Reid, Andrew DeClerq, or Steven Hunter.

Starting Clark at C and Oyedeji at PF would be a real athletic frontline. Might be able to work if Hill is healthy since he is such a good rebounder. Of course, there isnt much beef in that frontline, but again, there isnt much beef in the East.

The Magic can't get Keon Clark...

... because they've already used up over half of their midcap exception ($4.6 mil?) on signing Jacque Vaughn and Olumide Oyediji. So forget about it. I have a BETTER alternative, anyway... TRADE FOR KARL MALONE! Go read my post.
