Ben Gordon put the Bulls on his back, again, leading the Bulls to a win over the Bobcats. Gordon scored 22 points in the fourth, 35 overall.

On the first day, God made Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. He saw what he made, it was good, but he was not quite satisfied.

On the second day, God evented Oscar Robinson and the triple double. He saw what he made, it was good, but he was not quite satisfied.

On the third day, God made Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, the NBA All-Time Scoring Leader. He saw what he made, it was good, but he was not quite satisfied.

On the fourth day, God made Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, a rivalry was born. He saw what he made, it was good, but he was not quite satisfied.

On the fifth day, God made Michael Jordan, the best yet. He saw what he made, it was good, but he was not quite satisfied.

On the sixth day, God made Kobe Bryant. Kobe Sinned, and god saw it was bad, and he was disgusted.

On the 7th day, God made Ben Gordon. He saw what he made, it was good, he was finally satisfied and took a rest.

Howard had a good game too. I think Howard is still leading. Nothing is decided yet.

ROY is between howard and Okafor but they dont want to give it to a HS kid since they plan to impose an age limit.

Gordon gets the glory because he comes in a cleans up the mess, but no one remembers chandler's 15 rebounds, or the rest of the things the team does. Tonight was gordon's night, offense gets all the glory unfairly.

Okafor makes his team competitive by bringing a double double nightly

The argument can be made for 4 people. Luol Deng is what makes the Bulls go b/c he does all the little things that flies under the radar. Emeka Okafor is good for a double-double every night and makes the Expansion Bobcats competitive (even though they always come up a step short). Dwight Howard is a walking double-double and is doing big things for a playoff contender (although they are on a downward spiral). Ben Gordon is the heir-apparent to Allen Iverson's scoring throne and lights it up off the bench and plays good down the stretch as demonstrated by his 4th quarter ppg average. I think the edge goes to Ben Gordon b/c of his late game heroics and also b/c Howard and Okafor aren't going to the playoffs. Luol Deng won't get any consideration b/c of Ben Gordon.

The clip is great, but it doesn't do justice to how amazing Ben was in the 4th quarter. Repeat

"22 points in the 4th quarter"

to yourself 22 times, and then you might have an idea. OR try this stat:

"Ben scored 18 straight points for the Bulls. (The last 18 of the quarter)."

Part of this scoring outburst had to do with bad coaching, too. Someone else mentioned that, in our last game against Memphis, Fratello sent 2 and sometimes 3 guys to guard Ben in the 4th. Bernie Bickerstaff didn't adjust at all.

This is why Ben Gordon should NOT win ROY but 6th Man of the Year....I know Gordon has been cold-blooded and clutcher than anything this year. But the thing is that he just comes in and starts firing, he is fresh coming into the fourth quarter so he just takes over.

Okafor on the other hand...has to play huge minutes...rebound...play D...AND be the team's #1 option on offense...he's doing pretty damn well. Until Gordon is doing stuff like that (which I believe will be soon)...let's just give the ROY to Okafor and 6th Man to Gordon. Let's just leave it at that.

Too bad he's garbage at everything else. The most overrated rookie in the league right now. He's not even the best rookie on his team. Right now, unless he dramatically improves other areas, we're looking at a glorified Wally Szczerbiak.
If there were an Award for "The Most Negative Poster on the Board", you would win it hands down

Yeah he sure is overrated. What's he got, 21 double digit fourth quarters? He certainly hasn't dug the Bulls out of any holes this year, that's for sure. He's definitely not a vital part of their success.

Right now he's a sixth man who's job is to score, and he does it quite well. To call him overrated is very silly.
