YES! Bring MILE in so he can build his body and strength.

Nets GM Ed Stefanski was re cently in Europe, where he had a closer look at Mile Ilic, the Nets' second round pick last summer, while in Belgrade. His report on the 7-1 Serbian: "He got bigger -- he's up to 250 pounds now," Stefanski said. "His hands are still terrific, he's a skilled kid. The bottom line is he has to get strong enough to hold his position in the post, but his balance is improved."
Still, he adds, Ilic doesn't play much and doesn't get the ball too often. But as the two dined together, Stefanski came away with the distinct impression that Ilic wants to be a Net as soon as this summer.
"We haven't negotiated anything with his team, but he'd definitely like to play here, if we can work out something," he said.
The Nets can shell out only $500,000 toward a buyout of a player under contract with a European team.

Depends if we get the big we go after this season, if we dont we should definetly bring him over. If we do I think it would be best if he stays over there an extra season.
Makes sense...gives him time to develop more...although his coach is not the great coach that Krstic's coach is. You have to credit him. Krstic arrived with all the tools. I don't think the nets will throw a lot of money at him, he'd be nice to have but only for offense. If Thomas plays the defense that he's capable of (which I doubt he will) then he would be worth it. I hope the nets don't get him, he's an underachiever that doesn't play defense. I can imagine him butting heads with Frank. I'd rather see the nets try to get Ely or some other agressive big guy, Thomas is too passive.
Unless we completely fail this offeason like the last one I doubt Thorn will go hard after him. He is not the big we need but would be a nice option off the bench.
I watched the Ilic many time last year and couple time this sesaon.He is very tall 7'1 with very long hands.He is not on the Krstic level offensivly but he can be very good.He had akward turnoround jump shoot which is very good,near the basket he always finish with the dunks I saw many impresive dunks and he look mean when he dunk.He like to dunk over the people.He has very long arms he can be very good shoot blocker.He is biggest weaknes is veight right know and lack of playing time.He is couch which is very young play other prospect Samardziski over Ilic often.They probbably doing that so they can sell him next season.They doing that with the young players they showcase their skills than they sell them to other teams or they get good buy outs.The FMP clup where Ilic is playing is great basketball school there is many potential future star there:Teodosic,Raduljica,Aleksandrov,
Macvan,Labovic,Musli etc.

Sounds like he is bulking up...Krstic still needs to do some more of that...maybe R.R. is available to do some personal donute training with the two of them.

Krstic didnt play until after our frontline was traded away for Carter. There is a big chance Ilic would just sit on the bench like Zoran regardless of his talent.miki said:I would bring him after this sesaon.
Thats the point we dont have good front line player except Krstic.I dont see big name in free agency.I am not the fan of getting Garnett and give up Jefferson and Krstic or Carter and Krstic.Robinson is too old if we bring Ilic and he show that he belong on the court that would be big+ for Nets.
Oh no doubt but last year before the Carter trade we didnt have a good line either and Krstic still racked up the DNPs. Very informative post, thank you. I agree with you on bringing him over, he's 7' 1'' and is skilled. I hope he can help out Krstic in the low post.
