Basketball means more in Indiana

Following the dump truck along Route 50 East in Indiana was a huge advantage. It offered an excuse to drive slowly over the curved and hilly two-lane road between Bedford and Seymour; to appreciate the changing leaf colors, and most important, to scour driveways and farms in search of a symbol of what basketball is and means in this part of the country......

I'm tired of the same article getting recycled each year except they do on the state of North Carolina one year, then Kentucky the next, then Kansas, and then Indiana.
The Kentucky article also mentions envelopes from Emery Freight.

There are numerically more fans in Indiana, but if you've ever been anywhere in KY, the obsession is closer to a state religion.

That said, HIGH SCHOOL hoops in Indiana is a cut above any other state. Considering only the number of high schools with facilities that hold 7000 plus, and get filled, it's incredible.
