lol, I came up with this on my own but I think it's pretty clever

if Jay Williams would have picked to wear the # 4 (i dont think the #4 is retired I could be wrong) we would have

PG-Williams-#4
SG-Crawford-#1
SF-Rose-#5
PF-Chandler-#3
C-Curry-#2

our starting line up would have #s 1-5

lol again im just thinking into it too mcuh but it would have been cool...

Jwill old # was 22 2+2=4

Bama -- are suggesting that another player be allowed to wear these 'retired' numbers.

since they wouldn't be retired, and simply honored.

its kinda like when B.J. Armstrong first came to the bulls... he wore #10, but then the organization decided to 'retire' Bob Love's #10 jersey... B.J. was allowed to continue wearing it...

but then, when Rodman came along he wanted 10 and coudln't have it... B.J. even came back for half a season a few years back, and he wasn't allowed to have his 10 back

so, it seems pretty cloudy what the rules of retirement are... i just know that i'll be sick to my stomach if someone comes along to the bulls and wears #23. hell, i think even Pippen's #33 should be off limits

and if you really, really wanna get touchy -- Jordan's second # - 45 is off limits as well

I couldn't disagree more. I think the whole concept of retiring numbers is really cool-- except when a franchise goes way overboard (*cough* Celtics *cough*) and retires the number of every player who ever averaged 10 ppg for them. I agree with Wishbone's comment-- I can't imagine any other player coming in and wearing #23.

I had heard the only reason B.J. Armstrong was allowed to continue to wear #10 was because Bob Love himself gave B.J. his blessing. It had nothing to do with any "rules" for retired numbers (as far as I know there aren't any hard and fast rules).

The young Bulls wanted to have jersey #'s 1-5 but since Sloans #4 jersey is retired they couldn't. So, Hassell chose the #22 because 2+2=4, now JWill will have that jersey for the same reason.

Actually the reason why JWill has #22 is because its his college number.

Hassell is taking his college #, #44. Bags just understands he's lucky to be on the team and isn't going to get in the way of anyone who wants his number.
