I was disappointed with Jefferson this year, he didn't seem to get any better.
The bright red warning flags went up in summer league. Of course, when I made mention of the problems people accused me of being a troll. But the kid obviously has motivational problems. The Celtics deliberately signed a player that they publicly touted as being unable to challenge Jefferson for minutes, handed him the job on a silver platter, and he went on cruise control. I really, really wish that Boston had used him as Bosh bait last summer when Babcock was still in command and before the rest of the league saw the problem. They need a player that can take minutes from Jefferson, because that's the only thing that seems to motivate him.P-Dub34 said:I was disappointed with Jefferson this year, he didn't seem to get any better.

I'm sure you're not trying "to toot" on your own horn, but this is only the 27th time I've heard this in the past month.#1AntoineWalkerFan said:not to toot my own horn but i think i was alone against this whole board at the beginning of the season when everyone said hed be averaging 15-9 if he got 24 mpg or somethign like that...which is better per minute stats than duncan...what he showed last year was that he could put up numbers against 2nd string players...and he didnt have to worry about gettin fouls because he didnt have to play many minutes to worry about fouling out...he was not ready to be thrown to the wolves and thats what happened...add to that the injuries and this season is what comes of it

I distinctly remember stating 15-10 with 32+ minutes. Not too far off, efficiency-wise, but I didn't expect this level of play from Jefferson.#1AntoineWalkerFan said:not to toot my own horn but i think i was alone against this whole board at the beginning of the season when everyone said hed be averaging 15-9 if he got 24 mpg or somethign like that...which is better per minute stats than duncan...what he showed last year was that he could put up numbers against 2nd string players...and he didnt have to worry about gettin fouls because he didnt have to play many minutes to worry about fouling out...he was not ready to be thrown to the wolves and thats what happened...add to that the injuries and this season is what comes of it
P-Dub34 said:I said 12/8 with minutes. As for somebody to challenge him, hopefully Gomes keeps up his play and that motivates him. Very disappointing campaign; last year I thought he'd be a 15/10 player and potential All-Star in the future. It's too early to give up on him, but I seriously question those predictions.
As for "handing him the job," and "thrown to the wolves," I don't seem to remember when Jefferson was consistently a starter and had the starting job given to him.
I think Aldridge is more Tony Battie with an offensive game. But they already have Perkins to pound underneath. Aldridge will be a good defender that can step back and nail a jumper as well as score some garbage points.P-Dub34 said:Isn't Aldridge more of a Bosh-type player? I'd prefer a dominant post player over a Chris Bosh mold, but considering Jefferson may never make it to that, maybe. Maybe Aldridge won't ever be anything special, either. There's been can't-miss kids who've missed before.
and around 60% shooting for D West.
That was you who said that?KingHandles said:I don't remember, but I think I was saying like 18-10 for AJ, and around 60% shooting for D West.
Man, I used to have some wild predictions. I didn't even notice Jefferson this season.
Neither did a lot of people, judging by the number of votes that Al's got for the Bison Dele Award.KingHandles said:I didn't even notice Jefferson this season.
