Sorry, but Charlotte's Emeka Okafor is the best choice for this season’s got milk? Rookie of the Year. Take it from me, I’ve won the award before and I know that Emeka’s all-around contributions – not just scoring – are what it takes to win the top honor.

We just played the Bobcats the other night and Emeka wasn’t even supposed to play because he was injured. But at the last minute he played and finished the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.

When we prepared for the game, Emeka was a main focus and we knew we had to stop him on both ends of the court to be successful. Chicago has several options and Gordon can get his points easier because teams don’t focus only on him because they have some other good young players.

Emeka has been great. I know he has the record for consecutive double-doubles for active players by a rookie and that’s saying something. I mean, more than Shaq and Duncan? That’s pretty good. And he’s also leading the NBA in offensive rebounds. He’s been consistent all season long and he’s done a wonderful job. He has been the biggest reason why the Bobcats have been as competitive as they have.

The other night it was close in the fourth quarter and he blocked shots on two straight possessions and then had another down the stretch in crunch time. He just gets it done in many different ways.

C’mon, Scottie. I know you’re biased, being a former Bull and all. Look at it from an unbiased opinion and realize that Emeka is the Rookie of the Year. I think he’s going to be a very good player in this league and I can easily see him as the cornerstone of this franchise.

It's hard to argue who should win given their stats are so important in this league. As a Bull fan, i want Gordon to win. But if Okafor was on this team, i would vote for him. I wouldn't be suprised to see a co-ROY this year. That probably is the fairest.

I've heard nothing but good things from Greg Anthony about the Bulls, he even said Hinrich will be an all star next year or the year after. Bulls are one of the teams Barkley gave props to because of their coaching and the way they play. Mariotti is a Chicago writer, enough said.

The Bulls forum is a forum of details. Pippen picked Gordon for rookie of the year, so it's necessary to post the response to Pippen's explanation by Kidd. Kidd said that his team doesn't plan for Gordon, they plan for everyone, meaning other players just as much if not more, so Gordon is one of the pieces, but not the reason, like you said. If it was as simple as two similar players, both leading their teams, but one guy's team is significantly better, then it would be an easy decision.

I agree with the co-ROY sentiments. If I had to choose one, however, I'd choose Ben. I don't disagree that every team that faces the Bobcat plans for Emeka, but also, given their lack of players, Dickie Simpkins would get those numbers as well.

The final litmus test, I guess, is how much has the team improved with the addition of the rook?

* Charlotte has won 15 more games (so far) than last season.
* Chicago has won 17 more games (so far) than last season.

Chicago, and thus Ben, win.
