The contract wording is being finalized and should be completed in the next day or so, Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi said Tuesday.
Towers, a 28-year-old right-hander, went 13-12 with a 3.71 earned-run average last season, helping carry the Blue Jays rotation after ace Roy Halladay's season-ending injury July 8.
