Well, there are plenty of stoned pundits out there because I have seen Memphis on plenty of preseason top 10 lists.
That's my point. Memphis is widely seen as a serious Final Four contender. 50 would put them in the NIT. Even the pundits that are skeptical still have them in the top 25. 50 is crazy low.

And what's he basing this on? All that data we have from this year's games? All those HS star rankings that correlate to on court D1 performance? Conference affiliations? I haven't hidden the fact that I don't care for Pomeroy. He's everything that's wrong with techno-geek analysis of team sports, hidden bias factors, and unpublished formulaic methodology.

The reason they are at 50 is in the analytics of how KenPom analyzes teams.

The preseason AP Top 25 does not slight the A10. There are three teams in their top 50. So maybe Juan might be disappointed.
