Whilst this forum still consists of a small group, it'd probably be a good time for us to get to know each other (not in the biblical sense) a bit just so we know who we're dealing with and so on.

So, I'm 29, from Melbourne Australia and follow... no laughing... Golden State.

I said no laughing!

Would be interested to hear from all you guys that will probably be the regulars here over the long haul.

Cheers
Brett

Great Idea!

I will probably be here for the long haul, since I built the site! Ron from La Habra, just turned 44.

For those who don't know, La Habra is about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and I follow both the Lakers, Clippers, and (Los Angeles) Kings...being an avid hockey fan as well. However, I absolutely LOVE the NBA and all the talent that is there...been following pro basketball since 1967, the days of Wilt, Jerry, Elgin, and Bill, and will NEVER get tired of it!

I'd follow football...if we had a team. :( Things are looking up in that regard, lately.

Baseball bores me, but I'm happy for Shawn Green...he needed to get out his slump.

I've been wanting to build this site for a long time, since I was a moderator over at FanHome. I love the whole idea of a sports community, and I enjoy tweaking bulletin board software! I also enjoy building smilie, folder, and button images, and all you see on the site I built myself (taking templates, of course, I'm not an artist per se).

Well, enough about me...let's hear from the rest of you.

Thanks Fordy.

My experience with new bulletin boards is that they start off slowly, and then gain momentum, usually through word of mouth. I'm confident we will be quite popular soon...interestingly enough, basketball boards do quite well in the summertime, because there is a lot of trade, free agent, and draft talk.

I'm 23 and my line of work requires me to live in different parts during different times. I'm usually in LA, San Diego or Greensboro. I've been a Laker fan since 1992 when Magic made his first comeback.

Hi, I'm Minstrel.

26, I'm from San Diego. And I've been a Lakers fan since nineteen-aught-four. Ever since Abner Chestershire scored an electrifying 5 points in the 13-4 crushing of the North Haverbrook Zeppelins to win the FSBA Championship.

We should turn this into a full fledged thread. I don't believe a bio thread has been done before, or atleast in a long time.

So here I go. My name is Yale and I was born in the big ol' city of Shanghai, China. I moved to America at the young age of three and from there, lived in NJ practically my whole life. I was a big baseball (Yankees) fan when I grew up, and did the whole Little League, religiously collecting baseball cards, and playing the hell outta my copy of Hardball 4 thing. I didn't really get deeply interested in basketball until middle school, when I started to play pickup games frequently, carrying over to my watching habits. I'll have to admit, I was a bandwagon fan, :p , when I was young, so my favorite teams in the Magic and Niners were successful teams in the mid-90's. Of course, the last year or so for both teams haven't been so hot, but hopefully, things will turn out for the better. What else do you need to know about me? Well, I'm a huge music fan, as many of you know. Me and Slim are the notorious metalheads on the board. Iron Maiden is my all time fav band. Up the Irons!! Let's see, during high school, I ran cross country and track. Wasn't the greatest (18:30 for my PR for the 5K, meh), but being on a sports team is one of greatest times you'll ever have. I'll never forget them. Nowadays, my family lives in the Triangle area in North Carolina, and I'm attending Duke Univeristy, having a grand time and eagerly anticipating the basketball season. I've switched from running to ultimate frisbee, and it's been awesome fun. As for my future career plans, the medicine field is what I'm aiming for, but who knows how that will turn out. So that's it. My whole life in a paragraph.

I'm Andrew, 13 years old. I was born in Sydney, Australia and have lived their ever since. My favourite holiday destination is Cyprus, but I really want to go to Tahiti or something. My favourite team is the Mavs. I've liked them for about 1 and a half years now, favourite player is Dirk. I just (as in today) made my 15B's team and scored 7 points against the 15A's. I have like a broken arm and can't do anything with it. I just finished holidays and I am starting Term 4 of year 8. I just recently chose to pick up Commerce and continue on with Drama and French. I am half greek and half russian

I found this site through NBAdraft.net. I was searching for a basketball forum, for ages! Then I found it and I was so happy.

My user name should really be theo2004 but I realised that the year will end and I will look like a gimp (note: my last email was theo_rox2001 so people kept asking me if I didnt rock anymore)

I'm Brandon, and I'm a 21-year old in the grand old state of Iowa.

Born and bred in Texas--I lived in Houston for several years before my house got hit by a tornado. Relocated nearby for a few months until the house was fixed, moved back in for a couple months, and then moved into The Woodlands, which is essentially Yuppyville. Not a bad place, really... unless you're very anti-establishment, like me. I was never a cool kid; I never shopped at American Eagle or GAP; I was the nerd who always read Star Trek. I enrolled in an Air Force JROTC in high school, because I thought at the time I wanted to go into the military. I became a Christian after my sophomore year in high school and lost most interest in the military.

I'm now in Iowa because of the wonderful Cornell College. Ever walked into a place you never knew existed previously and felt right at home? Yeah, that's me here. I'm double-majoring in International Relations and Religion. Not sure what I'm going to do with that, really, I'm thinking about CIA after grad school. It'd be interesting, I think. Soon, I'm doing a comparative religion/mythological study of Tolkien's Silmarillion. I'm excited enough about it I thought it was worth mentioning.

As far as my user-name goes, it's the name of a Star Wars character; to me it represents self-understanding and discovery of my identity. Go read I, Jedi if you're that interested.

Yo Bryan (if that IS your real name...), how come in your profile it says you're 18 but you say you're 17? Come clean with it, son! :D

By the way, I really am 23, have the same first name as wadeshaqeddie, and I'm from Los Angeles.

Hi, I'm Pinball and I'm 23 yeards old. What I'd like to know is how Fordy went from 26 years old to 30 in about 2 and one half years?

WOW this thread is OLD.. That post was on may 24, 2002. My birthday is June 21. so 28 days from that post I turned 27. On june 21 2005 three years later I turned 30. Make sense now? :nah: When you made that post, I was 29. On one of my threads someone mentioned I didnt act like someone 30 years old, obviously rounding off my age. from that point on everyone thought of me as a 30 year old, which is what you were probably thinking at the time of your post.. Why are you so anal, Pinball?

name is Caleb, I'm 20 and live in Columbia, Missouri. I've liked NBA ball my whole life, but fell in love back in 2001 watching Rasheed Wallace. I became a Portland fan, and followed them until he was traded. yes, I'm that big of a loser that wherever Sheed goes, I go. so at least I can say I'm not a bandwagon Detroit fan just b/c they won the championship last year :)
