Condolences to Halil.

St. Joe's junior forward Halil Kanacevic will miss the next few games due to a death in his family. Averaging 7.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 3.1 apg.
Per Jeff Goodman.

Not to be insensitve, but from a VCU standpoint, that obviously makes our task of beating the Hawks at home next Thursday a little more doable.

Saint Joseph's forward Halil Kanacevic will miss at least the next two games as he travels to his native Montenegro to attend the funeral of his maternal uncle, school officials said Friday.

Kanacevic, a 6-8 forward from Staten Island, N.Y., is averaging 7.1 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Hawks, who are 8-5 overall and 0-2 in the Atlantic 10. He’ll miss Saturday’s game at Duquesne plus next Thursday’s game at VCU, at the least.

This weakens an already thin rotation for coach Phil Martelli. Only six players, including Kanacevic, played more than five minutes in Wednesday’s 72-66 loss to No. 14 Butler.
