6-6 small forward Keena Young of South Plains (TX) CC, originally signed with Memphis along with Beamount (TX) Ozen teammate Kendrick Perkins. However, once Perkins entered the NBA Draft, the tigers lost interested in the forward. He led Ozen to the Texas state title as a junior and runner-up spot as a sophomore and senior. Young was the second leading scorer and rebounder.

Signed to play at Memphis in Class 2003, along with high school teammate Kendrick Perkins. When Perkins decided to go directly to the NBA, Young said Memphis told him that he was released from his scholarship.

what little i remember from him in the state tourney was that when teams would double perkins or just stop him from getting the ball this guy would take over the game. Good pick up for the red raiders.
