When asked about the state of the wrestling business Nash answered negatively, slating the current crop of champions. Referring to CM Punk and Daniel Bryan Nash said:

“They are not bigger than life,” he says. “I bet they could both walk through airports and not be noticed unless they have a gimmick shirt on and the belt.”

He went on to describe the moment he feels the wrestling business died and attributed it to the moment a ‘small’ guy won the belt.

“When Benoit and Guerrero hugged [at the end of WrestleMania XX], that was the end of the business,” he says. “Has business been the same since that WrestleMania? Has it come close to the Austin era? Has it come close to the nWo or the Hogan era? You put two f—ing guys that were great workers that were the same height as the f—ing referees, and I’m sorry, man. Are you going to watch a porno movie with a guy with a three-inch d–k? Even if you’re not gay, you will not watch a porno movie with a guy with a three-inch d–k. That’s not the standard in porno films. So you put a 5-foot-7 guy as your world champion.”

Jericho, a man who doesn’t necessarily meet the typical wrestler stereotype, then hit back on his Twitter taking a shot at the man known to some as Big Lazy:

Funny how @realkevinnash says wrestling “died” when Benoit and Guerrero were champs-Yet the worst year for WWE biz was 95 when he was on top

When he read this comment Nash retorted in typically sarcastic fashion suggesting he had played the internet marks (including Y2J) once more:

Once again the puppet master pulls the marks strings .Knew Jericho was a closet mark.First one eliminated on a bullshit sing show…REALLY!!

Not one to be outdone Jericho hit back again, this time taking a pop at Nash’s notorious injury prone streak.

Hope @realkevinnash doesn’t tear his quad tweeting! #typicalbigman#nwothirdwheel

He has a point he's just a little extreme and conveying it. And it's less about size moreso the "it" factor.

At the time though you also have to look at their alternatives...bringing back crusty old guys wouldn't have gone over as well as guys who the fans respect and like getting their big opportunities.

In my opinion Eddie Guerrero's death did irreparable damage to the WWE because it resulted in the Wellness Policy which has become a double edge sword that can kill momentum/storylines i.e. King Regal, Jeff Hardy, Mr.Kennedy being McMahon's son and force the WWE to throw shit against the wall.

Meh. That's damage I'm willing to accept...don't want anyone killing themselves with drugs so a storyline can keep going.

Regal flabby ass was on the juice though

WWF did not get a higher tv rating than WCW until after HBK retired.

That's not exactly fair, Rock, HHH and them didn't pop up like we know them now until like 98, late 98.

Austin's ascension was cemented when he beat HBK but he was already getting the push anyway

So it's not like HBK was holding anyone down that ultimately led the attitude era. And they would've been even better with him in the attitude era.

And people care what Kevin Nash thinks why? They guy comes back for a month and ruins the only good thing WWE had going for them in the last 5 years...His return was the WWE biggest mistake in the last 10 year

Nash is stuck in the 80's mentality that only big guys draw for image reasons. I wonder how he felt in the early/mid 90's when McMahon was forced to push smaller guys like Bret Hart and HBK due to the steroid trial/scandal.

I liked Nash back in his prime but it's getting harder and harder to like him these days.

Wrestling died when the stories got stupid.

The shit you guys watch today is horrendous compared to the good old days.

NWO beating the **** out of everyone. Steve Austin doing crazier and crazier shit to Vinnie Mack. DX. Hell, even the Corporation or whatever it was called when Smackdown first started was head and shoulders better than the shit you guys have today.

Lol Nash is an Idiot.

And to me WWE died right before The Rock left. The whole Attitude era was the best of all-time. DX, steve austin, the rock, mask kane and undertaker fighting each other, Triple H. my favorite was the rock and stone cold feud.
