http://www.nba.com/nets/features/carrino_kidd.htmlFew could claim to have shut down both Chauncey Billups and Steve Nash but Jason Kidd did it on back-to-back nights. The Nets recent success can be directly attributed to the play of the team's captain, leading Nets radio voice Chris Carrino to write about how far Kidd has come since his surgery.

People wanted him traded because we thought he was done, or because there were whispers he wanted out (in part)?NetsanityJoe said:its funny how people thought kidd was done and had 2 years left max and that we should trade him and how he isnt a top pg in the league because he doesnt score like nash, yet does everything else as well and better, or because we have struggled. people have forgotten too quickly about Hall of Famer #5
People keep saying that, but the Eastern Conference is terrible. I mean really terrible.FullMetalAlchemist said:the league has gotten tougher too.
people thought kidd was done, not because there were 'whispers' that he wanted out. when kenyon left, sure people might have thought it was better to trade kidd since he was unhappy about the team trading kenyon and getting rid of kerry and the rest of our finals squad and b/c of the surgery he was coming off. but basically once nash landed in phx and he all the sudden became the god of all pg's people forgot about kidd. and because people were watching nash, they loved his style and thought kidd was old and could do what nash was doing yet he was doing everything for us(nets). people just flat out wrote kidd off. how he lost a step on defense and that he was never a good shooter and that maybe he cant run a break anymore because of his surgery. well kidd makes those people look and writters look like complete fools. the nash bandwagon is so gigantic right now that it would be hard to get kidd voted to be the best pg in the league if you took a poll. you know people look at nash scoring more, but thats the only thing he does better than kidd imo. the thing is that people think kidd isnt as good because he doesnt make the amazing passes 10x a game or throw 5 alley oops a game, but people need to realize that our team has changed over the years: players and system. the offense phx runs makes nash look better and a lot of nash's success is because of the system they run in phx. here in jersey we focus more on defense, not the run and gun O they got. if you put kidd in phx's offense he will be as productive as nash. you put nash in our system and we will be weaker as a team. i didnt mean to rant on and make this a nash-v-kidd post, but i think you get my point.Petey said:People wanted him traded because we thought he was done, or because there were whispers he wanted out (in part)?

I mean the #2 team is Miami, a team that plays no defense and is certainly not looking formidable for the playoffs.
The reason the Pistons have won so many games is because there are so many terrible teams.
