"Jason Kidd is averaging his lowest assists per game (6.6 apg) in his entire career. Not including this season, his career low for the regular season is 7.7 apg, in Dallas his rookie season. Kidd is also scoring just 13.0 ppg, his lowest since the 1997-97 season when he was with the Suns."

Kidd is not a stat guy, his contribution to the team is so much more than that, leave stats for players like Marbury or Shareef. Anyway Kidd always starts out slow, last season for the first month or so he averaged 4 apg.

Yeah, very good point. His contributions are much more than stats could bring... I just felt sad that his stats were quite low. But as everyone said, its too early to make statements and generalizations. And his "contribution other than the stats" is his trademark value to the team.

Go Kidd! Go Nets!

The better stat is how many APG the team is averaging as compared to last season. Kidd, Vince, RJ & Krstic are all good passers.
That's true. The thing with the motion offense and everyone touching the ball, cutting, and screening both with and away from the ball is that the right shot can develop at any moment so that assists, like shots, are much more likely to be spread out amongst the 5 players on the court.

Very good point, they're all sharing the ball. RJ and VC alone combine for 11 assists a game.

"Richard Jefferson is averaging his highest assists per game (4.6) in his entire career. Not including this season, his career high for the regular season is 4.0 in New Jersey last year when he missed 49 games. Jefferson is also scoring 20.5 ppg, his highest since last year when he was injured."

"Vince Carter is averaging his highest rebounds per game (6.1) in his entire career. Not including this season, his career high for the regular season is 5.8 rpg, in Toronto his second season. Carter is also scoring 2.9 orpg, the highest in his career."

Almost nobody runs with him anymore. It would be much higher than... (apg)

I'm not going to panic about it. Once the season gets rolling, his numbers will probably start going up some.

But the numbers don't matter as long as there are wins.

Our big men can't make layups and Vince's shot has been off all season, yet you wonder why Kidd's apg are so low.
If you missed it, most of the people posting in this thread don't care about the numbers
