Just wondering, if you were Phil Jackson, how tempted would you be to allow Kobe to match up defensively with Kidd throughout the series?

I think he has the leg speed to keep with Kidd but I also believe he would be too tough to guard for Kidd on the other end, creating a very tough match-up for the Nets.

Kidd will school Fisher, especially a Fisher down on confidence, but Kobe... it might be just what the Lakers need to make things a little easier.

Cheers

I actually think that Fisher will have an easier time with Kidd than he did with Bibby. I don't think the Lakers will need to use Kobe on Kidd. Fisher is a bull dog on defense and should make life pretty tough for Kidd. Kobe is too tall to try to guard the shorter, quicker Kidd....as Jason is constant energy for the entire 48 minutes and he eats up the taller guys.
It is the smaller (at least the smart - smaller ones who know how to get in his chest and make life difficult) guards that hurt Kidd.

Perhaps, but I can't see Fisher keeping Kidd off the boards and I also can't see the refs giving him calls (especially on those Vlade-like flops) against Kidd. I'd at least share time with Kobe defending the point
