"I feel I can average 20 points a game"

"When you look at his athletic ability and jump shot, it's not hard to imagine him averaging 24, 25 points a game one day."

These quotes stand out clearly in my mind from the beginning of the season and they were all about Eddie Robinson. Assuming they were legit, why would the Bulls back off of his talent instead of helping him through his injury and then getting him back on track?

What makes you think that ERob is not being counted on by the Bulls? I know for a fact that he is. I have heard nothing negative about ERob over the offseason. Earlier, he went down to Oklahoma to have his toe checked by another foot specialist (of his choosing) and that doctor agreed with the Bulls' team doctors, saying the best thing he could do is rest the foot and it should be fine. He's been in town and working out at Berto and seems to be okay. So, I'm not sure where you're getting the feeling that the team has washed their hands of him.

Yeah, there is no doubt that if E-Rob is healthy he will be starting next year and will probably be the second optoon from the start...

MBSH: What is the feeling about ERob's defense down at the Berto center? Do they view him as a potential defensive stopper, potentially a good defender, already a good defender, a weak defender who has the potential to be a lot better, etc? Do they view him as someone who could be a good defender on SGs, big SFs, or small PFs?

And if they see 30-35 mpg for ERob, 30-35 mpg for JWill, 35-40 mpg for Rose, that leaves 34-49 mpg for Hassell, Crawford, and anyone else at the 1/2/3. Any ideas on who is likely to be the unhappy party?

Rose has a starting spot locked up. Ditto Curry and Chandler. We assume J-Will will. So he's the three and Rose the two instead of Rose being the three and Jamal the two?

I don't see it. I think he's back the bench like in Charlotte...

I think that if Krause drafts (and keeps) JWill, ERob has to go to the bench. I think JC earned a starters role with his play in his 6 starts last season, and I don't think JWill would be brought in to come off the bench. IMO, if we keep JWill, and ERob is starting ahead of him on opening night, it's only to showcase him (ERob) for a trade.

Other than Guyton, who I think will be gone, the minutes may be close to reality. ERob has expressed an interest in playing the 2, and Hoiberg will get some minutes but not a lot.

We're not in development/building mode anymore. We're trying to win. Bagaric won't see much time, and either E-Rob or Hassell won't see much time. I'll bet it will be Hassell...which makes no sense for the talent he has. There HAS to be a trade this off-season...

If E-Rob is fully healthy next season and prove he is worth it and develop his skill he could be an all star.........I hope that will happen..........The only thing is that Krause see E-Rob in the starting line up........

Meaning that JC might play from the bench maybe.....So line up might look like this:

C: Curry
PF: Chandler
SF: Rose
SG: E-Rob
PG: Jay(Drafted.)

Or

C: Curry
PF: Chandler
SF: E-Rob
SG: Rose
PG: Jay

Depend with the match ups but of course I could be wrong.

If you remove Guyton from your rotation, you're very close. Guyton probably won't be on the team. I could see us using his slot for a developmental guy like De Angelo Collins or Cisse or Cooke if he somehow doesn't get drafted. I also see Hassell or Robinson grabbing trade attention at the deadline.

Additionally, you figured no time at all in for our 2nd rd. picks. That isn't a good sign, either we draft really poor or we trade the picks to Houston and finish our debt. Can't see Jerry doing that.

What exactly are we in then ? I think we're still in development simply because Jerry's still feeling out the pieces he acquired, not because all of a sudden we want to win. We've heard him rave about Jamal and E-Rob, but we've seen trade rumors swirl them like bees on honey. Besides, we haven't even cracked the playoffs yet to think like we desperately need to do anything. We'll probably still see lineups based on whatever he's feeling is working at the moment. Bill's still feeling it out AND trying to win like last year, except with more experience and more established roles in a system while still tacking on an almost-surefire star.

As for this 10-man rotation, I don't care much right now about Bagaric or Guyton, so really it's an 8-man rotation. I slipped them in there just to get the minimum 9 players. At the moment, I'd take AJ's part-time 3-point explosions over the very little we've seen of Norm.

Rose is going to play around 38/40 mins. As much as he can handle.

Also Rose is not going to let the Bulls start the season without at least 1 vet big man addition. Even if it is just Scott Williams.

Bags and Guyton will get garbage and injury minutes not much else. I agree Chandler and Fizer will virtually split the PF minutes with TC sometimes moving to the 5 especially if Fizer has it going.

I think that Chandler, Curry, Robinson and Williams shold all be played around the clock, they are the future. so what we give up one year with our young'ns gaining experience next year we will dominate.

Yeah you're probably right about Rose, actually. I'm just kind of holding it back in case Eddie Robinson, Jamal Crawford, or Trenton Hassell decide to bust out and prove they are clutch or something like that.

The emphasis is on winning NOW. Krause was talking playoffs with last seasons team, whats he going to go after with Rose and more vets this coming season?

Again, he wants to get those kids some playoff lovin' early in their career to help their development, but also to cement the idea that it's a team that can do some damage if it stays togather.

You won't see mistake prone players get a lot of playing time to work the kinks out, and Krause won't be going after high draft picks again. The players that Krause has want to win, and they won't tolerate an environment that doesn't allow them to do that.

I won't sugarcoat it regarding ERob's defense ... or lack there of. Many at Berto were disappointed with his defensive efforts of last season -- injuries or not. They never thought of him as a deffensive stopper, but someone who can, at the very least, be a solid contributor on the other end of the floor.

ERob has incredible quicks and relflexs along with an ubeliveable reach. But, we all know that defense is played with your feet, and he claims that his suffered because of his foot problems. He has been promised a clean slate for this coming season and he has vowed to pick-up his intensity. I guess time will tell.

As for your questions regarding minutes ... it's a little early to tell on that front. Obviously, the thinking is Rose will play the most and that Chandler and Curry, if they can stay out of foul trouble, will play a lot more than last year. Hassell is also very much in the plans as is ERob, Fizer and Crawford. But anything can happen -- trade wise that is. All doors are being left open and I wouldn't be surprised if a trade is pulled off on draft night -- however, not involving Jay Williams. I think if he's there at No. 2, we're gonna grab him. But, there could be something else brewing on different front. We'll just have to wait and see.

I just don't get it with ERob. I just don't get it.

I remember ScottMay over at RealGM arguing once that ERob has worse ball handling and passing skills than many 4s, most 3s, and practically every 2. And he is right.

He also has a funny shot that probably will never extend out to the 3-point line, and with his mediocre ball handling, he really can't slash to the hoop either. How in the world does such a player score 20-25 points a game? Even if he is an amazing athlete.

And we don't even expect him to be a great defensive player either. I just don't get it. Maybe as a player to add some excitement, ERob made sense last year, but this year we have plenty of reasons to be excited. Unless ERob works and becomes a great defensive player, I really can't see how he will be a more important contributor than Hassell who plays strong defense and can hit an open shot. For ERob to be effective, the offense will to some extent need to be run through him, which I can't imagine happening.

I just wish that I could imagine how ERob could be a good player. Even if he becomes fully healthy, I have a very hard time seeing it.

No offense to gettinbranded and company, but J-Will is not going to start from the get go. E-Rob will be starting at either the 2 or the 3 despite what you all WANT. Krause has an obligation to play E-Rob and he promised him a starting position as well....

As far as minutes go, Chandler and Curry are not going to be getting over 30 minutes a piece. More like 25-27 minutes per game...

J-Will is not going to be playing 30 minutes per game either......

More importantly, Krause and Cartwright have an obligation to the fans and to the rest of the Bulls' players to play the guys who give us the best chance of winning. If that means you play a guy who makes $500,000 over a guy who makes $5,000,000, then that is what you do. The contracts are water under the bridge. Championship organizations put their best players out on the floor, except in cases like last Spring where we out of the hunt and developing players.
