He has been playing extremely well. He was spectacular today. Its so much as the increase in his numbers, but his aggressiveness. YOu see him boxing out and running and trying to get good position in most if not all the plays. Good for the kid. As good as he is today, he's going to be something extremely special someday.
This is what the Nenad enthusiasts envisioned during the off-season. After the All Star break he's being making bigger strides to become a future star. : )
Nice to see him improve his rebounding.

NBA.com make Kristic jerseys! What are you waiting for!
I don't typically wear NBA jerseys, but I'd sport one of those.
The improved defensive rebounding is what has surprised me. Has he been more agressive on the glass? Has his strength increased?

Yeap. He's much more animated when he fights for rebounds in terms of body language. He acts like a beast. I especially like how he murdered Welsch, Redd and someone else when they entered the paint. By murdered i mean his hands ate up the ball; major rejections.

Oh non-related, but I liked how he banged shoulders with Magloire after he was fouled. Kid's got attitude and a mean streak. And it's showing in all facets of his game.
His rebounding is way improved. He tries to get his hand on every lose ball, and more importantly his fouls have gone down. Sometimes he is even surprised he doesnt hear the whistle, case in point that hands up thing against TJ today.

I just like how he's being a man. Not getting pushed around, yellin at the refs, dunking the ball, blocking what comes in HIS paint. He is no longer a weakling, who goes up for layups.
Yeah... I always knew he was tough but he had some bad habits(not going up strong, not jumping for rebounds). Besides scoring, he had a lot of positives in this game. Besides his aggression on the boards, he showed a mean streak when he surprised the hell out of Magloire when he bumped him after the foul. Another good thing was after a really good first half, he responded really well to the double teams. I thought he used to really rush the passes when they double teamed him, but now he's doing a really good job of surveying the floor then making the correct pass. And I loved the block he got on Redd where it went off of Redd and went out of bounds.

I don't know if anyone knew Krstic would have improved as much as he did, especially throughout the season. I hate it when media/posters say the Nets have no frontline. EVERY team in this league would love to have Krstic playing for them. He's intelligent, hard working, and a great mismatch against the opposition.

I think part of it is technique. He is learning how to block out better. It has nothing to do with "being a man" or other such macho garbage.
I may be wrong since I haven't watched many games this year, but I think someone told Krstic to go after the ball on the defense boards. Same thing happened to Martin in 2003.

Sometime during February or early March, Krstic got the idea and his defensive rebounding numbers increased over 50%. That is an enormous difference which can hardly be attributed to mere technique, which leads to more gradual improvement.

I dont buy into the whole soft, tough thing either BUT Kristic is a lot more physical now. The other day he grabbed a rebound and it made me say WHOA. He brought that sucker down with authority

Yes technique, but the style he executes the technique is pure "macho" these days which I'm thrilled about. He's got attitude plain and simple. He's not afraid to get in the face of a ref or start a fight. He won't back down from anyone in this league. If that isn't "macho" I don't know what is, NetIncome. =)
