Smath trying to get back in the drivers seat here.

Frankly drizzles just better right now. He drafted / tanked better than I have in the last 4 seasons and thus was in a position to land Bob (I have coveted him since he was back in the league)

False. No one wants to or asks me for advice anymore nor do they want to listen to a podcast.

No one.
I thought it was common knowledge that EVERYONE loves podcasts.

Drizzy's best qualities are that he does really well in drafts and knows when to trade up and is really patient in making that trade for his final piece. Have the Mavs learned anything?

No. We will trade for Vinny Remo the first chance we get.
Patience is the toughest.

Patience is the toughest.

This.

I know I got a lot of shit for tanking, but man it was tough being patient for so long. An extended rebuild plan can easily take four to six months in real time, which can feel like an eternity.

Oldest staff in the league. Might be why I can't win any games.

GM are definitely better now a days.

You can't really use nooby as an example of the past because he was the number 1 GM before he got banned from the forums.

I will say that shmip and nooby were better than most GMs now. But you are ignoring all the GMs that left that were more like Allrim.

Avg GM back then was no where close to nooby.

jayk has been ass the past few times he's tried to come back.

He encountered the same problems other rapist GMs have. An inability to build a cohesive team.

Also cap management matters a lot more now days.

Before teams regularly were around 120 million in cap without any worries.

I'd say new KVBL system requires more skill.

In fact, I would you say you could measure the growth of avg skill level in KVBL by jayk decline.

First time around jayk was viewed as top 3 GM.

Second time around a middle of the pack GM.

Final time around, he was mid-bottom tier. Better than than the crap GMs that only got raped. But no indication he was anything above mid to mid-bottom GMs.

KVBL has evolved where cap management, draft and DC matter more. Some good GM in past haven't adapted.

Rockets

Owner/GM: Chilleeves
VP of Basketball Operations: Dwight Howard
Head Coach: Brad Stevens
Assistant Coach: Frank Vogel

Dwight Howard was brought in as a reminder of the clubs early success in the KVBL as the multiple time champion is heading the team as they navigate the next few years without a lot of assets and draft picks. Elder statesmen hold the spots on the bench as the Rockets wait for 2 former players to retire and take their open invitations for the coaching positions. Once Jim Williams retires he will be made the head coach, and his PF from the Rockets early years under Chilly Wesley Noth will be made his assistant.

Boston Celtics

Owner/GM: Fsecreast
Head Coach: John Wall (1st year)
Assistant Coach: Alistair Maynard (1st year)
VP of Basketball Operations: Dmitry Mikhailov (1st Year)
I went to quote this earlier on my phone to point out that I chose Mikhailov as my VP of Basketball Operations over a year and a half ago when this thread first came up but I accidentally hit edit so now I'm sure no one will believe me. Lol.

Mikhailov can convince Pytor to come over and play for the C's next season damnit!
