Is it just me or does getting woods seem alot like building up a "pippen" to complement bryant. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Anyway anyone else hoping Lakers trade away walker and hunter? Especially hunter, he jacks up 3's and never makes them, shoots way too much and doesn't run offence though shaq/kobe first.

Off-season decisions I hope Lakers make
1)Sign Malik Rose
2)DON'T sign a guard unless it's cheap and short term
3)Resign Shaw for minimum.

Am I the only person who thinks that Lakers need at least 1 more significant person to win it again this year. Im not starting the whole Sac and LA thing again (belive me that's the last thing I wanna hear). But I really dont think you will beat them next year without a new fresh guy on this team.

Maybe a Malik Rose,Keon Clark, Elden Campbell or Jamaal Maggloire deal would put you guys way over them.

Come on Shaq and Maggloire would be unstopable Shaq at C Jamaal at PF two montross seven footers with athletism.

I think Lakers can win next year if they static, maybe next 2 depending shaq's health. Any more then that and they'll need another scorer.

I think a scorer is needed in future, but not neccessary next year IMO. Lakers could really use Rose IMO, he hits boards alot and has lots of put back points, plays D hard.

I remember when Cambell was w/ Shaq on lakers, it wasn't pretty. He'd stand around and didn't even try to get rebounds.

short term needs-
PF that works hard on D, gets lots of boards
quick PG for defensive purposes- Tyrone Lue instead of Hunter is looking mighty good right now :(

I don't think backup for shaq/kobe is really needed since they should be play 85% or more anyway. Sf is set w/ horry/fox-assuming both are back. If trade goes through for woods then woods/fox isn't that bad either.

No your not the only person. KennethTo said the Lakers should sign Rose, and I've stated numerous times that the Lakers should sign him. The Lakers should also try to get Qyntel woods. He'll be the 3rd scorer.

If they lose George then they will need another signifcant person. IMO, if Fisher didn't struggle with his shooting (and shot like he did in the finals) and Kobe didn't eat the burger the Lakers win that series pretty eaisly. Let's hope that Shaq get's healthier, he started to play better as the playoffs went along. Hopefully that's a good sign.

I'm in the minority when I think the Lakers should actually look for some backcourt help over some front court help. Shaq plays about 40 minutes a game, Horry can go about 24 minutes a game in the regular season and Walker is good enough to handle the rest. Slava should also continue his development.

At guard the Lakers have Kobe and two inconsistent shooters that are weak ball handler and penetrators for guards. I mean who is the best playmaker on the Lakers after Kobe? Fox? Shaq? Horry? We need a decent sized, quick guard that can handle the ball under pressure more than anything, IMO. Especially if Shaw isn't resigned.

That Pippen/Jordan thing is actually a pretty astute observation. Let's face it, Shaq has probably at most 4 years left (when his contract ends). By that time Kobe would only be 27 and Woods only 24. Neither would have reached their prime yet.

I think the Lakers should sign a young center-for when Shaq goes-sign and trade George for whatever we can get-than trade Hunter for a draft pick or two. But keep our starting lineup intact.

Should the Lakers falter next year, or the year after, it will be because of injuries.
No other team is close.
So yes, backups for the star players and possibly a couple more role players to replace or back up the current ones.
Face it, if we were to acquire another star, the Laker-Hate that is prevalent on this and many other boards would be nation-wide.
