Lawrence did his best to try and lose the game

What the hell was he thinking. First of all, he had Kidd out way too long in the 2nd quarter. Second of all, putting Vince on Billups so Kidd could chase Hamilton was ridiculous. Kidd shut Billups down the whole game and there was no reason to switch. I know Lawrence wanted to contain Rip, but Chauncey is their best and most dangerous player. Putting Carter on him was flat out dumb. Lastly, there was no way he should've fouled so soon in the clock at the end. What happens if we miss a free throw? Then we're only up by 2 with virtually the same clock situation that Detroit had before when we were up by 3. Now they have a chance to win in regulation when the best they had before was to tie. What happens if we miss both free throws? Then we're only up by 1 and all Detroit has to do is get a field goal to win. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be up by 3 with 3.7 seconds left or whatever it was than by 2 with 3 seconds left. Just a bad bad coaching job.

Oh come on now,Frank if anything should have been blamed for his substitution pattern in the 2nd quarter but im all for fouling when up by 3 with a few seconds left.....we had 3 timeouts after and the pistons had none so it was all in our favor
He made some mistakes in the 2nd qrtr but I think he made up for it by telling kidd to foul billups with 3.2 sec on the clock. So they don't get a shot at three. That was a smart move, regardless of what you think
He makes decisions before the game, and follows through on them irregardless of their success (or lack thereof) DURING the game.
Putting Wright on Hamilton was an excellent move. He completely took RIP out of the game. Dude relax we won.
you've got to be kidding me... your complaining and hating on frank after this AWESOME WIN?! cmon man... thats not right

Lawrence Frank's coaching the last minute of the game WON THAT GAME. He did a great job in the second half today, and except for switching kidd off billups, i found his decisions to be the correct moves at the CORRECT time.

he was on him for 1 minute, so why even put that down?
What are you talking about? Frank made a right decision in fouling. If Billups wasn't fouled, and he hit that three, the crowd would be in it, and we would have zero chance of winning that game. That play saved the NETS.

Billups is a clutch player. I've seen games where he just completelt takes over, and hit unconscious shots. Trust me that was the right play!!!

Any NBA coach without a shoe up there hole, would do that exact play!!!

I agree with you letting KIDD stay too long in the bench.

He was on him for most of the 3rd. Watch the game.

Mindless twaddle.

Yes, I know. You can never satisfy these fans.
My only fault with Frank is Vaughn, besides that he coached an excellent game
I'd much rather he trust his defense than to possibly put us in a position to lose.

LOl. At least you should have saved this post for a loss.

1. Kidd sat for 1 minute in the first, and almost 5 minutes in the second. Hardly something to complain about. You can't expect Kidd to play 44 minutes. Sure, they made a run, but they're the best team in the league. You didn't expect them to just lie down and surrender. Besides, a rested, more active Kidd is always a better option down the stretc.

2. Kidd has done a good job on Hamilton in the past. He was hot in the third. Of the 3 posessions Billups scored on Carter, one was a wild heave from 28 ft. Anyway, putting your best defensive player on the guy who'se been hot is commonsense. It wasn't just Rip's scoring, it was how he was scoring too. He was getting into the paint regularly.

3. The clock situation was NOT the same. The Nets burned one second, so it was 2.3 seconds left on the clock. The reason why this decision was made was that they did not have timeouts left. While the Nets had a full and a 20 (I think). Remember the triple-OT game in Detroit 2 years ago? The Nets were up by 3 and Billups made a half-court 3 to send it to overtime? While the Nets still won the game, they were kicking themselves for not fouling Billups immediately. As you know, the 3OT drained everything out of the Nets (especially Kidd). The coach can always be blamed on the last posession. What if they didn't foul, and the Pistons made a 3? No ifs and buts. A coaching move is good if it works.

Its Chauncy ****ING Billups, do you understand what he has done this season, WHAT HE DID IN THE 2003-2004 Playoffs AGAISNT US!!! It was the correct move, the pistons had no timeouts remaining, and as long as the nets made their free throws we would win.

Thank you. Perfectly said. High five

Wright played around 5 1/2 minutes on Hamilton, and he was 0-5 during that stretch.

We have no defense against the Pistons. The Pistons's starting five are best in the NBA. Each one have the possibility to hit clutch shots. If we play one on one defense against them, we lose. If we play zone defense, we lose. If we double team, Billups will find the open teamate and torch us.

Relax man. The NETS won!!!!!!!!!! Savor the moment. SUNS is a tough team tomorrow!!!

OMG Frank(along with Kidd) won this game for us. Did you notice how our players knew almost exactly what Detroit was going to do? The only mistake he made was playing Murray at the 4. Kidd needed to rest, it's not Franks fault that even tho Vaughn got 3 WIDE OPEN looks, he didn't knock them down. Most people agree with me so I'll just stop. But Frank really outcoached Flip period.
