LeBron James breathed new life into a sluggish offense with a career-high 38 points on 14-of-27 shooting to lead the Cavs to a 104-100 victory over the Washington Wizards.

"We were very sluggish, and this was just a gut-wrenching win, and we had to mentally come with it," Silas said. "Needless to say, [James] was ready. He's got that in him. That was a lot of points. He did other things than just score. He defended, blocked shots and did it all."

James started out on fire with 14 first-quarter points. He cooled off in the second with only two points, but the fire restarted in the third with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. James had only three points in the fourth quarter. It also was a quarter that included the first technical foul of his pro career. James went 1-for-7 in the fourth as he was pressing to get 40 points.
