Today, LeBron James was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March and NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 2nd. Normally winning an NBA player of the month award would be more significant than winning an NBA player of the week award, but this may be an exception as LeBron James just made NBA history by winning the NBA player of the week award for his third consecutive week. The NBA started giving the award out in the 1979-80 season and this is the first time ever that the same player has won the award for 3 straight weeks.

I really don't think so. There seems to be a group of folks who have no intention of voting for LeBron no matter what. I don't know if it's because of the teams record, his age or what. But LeBron has gotten surprisingly little MVP respect.

Very true. The Cavs could go undefeated, he could keep racking up player of the week awards and it wouldn't change a thing.

Yeah, last year was not a LeBron issue. Thats why he was playing 48 minutes per game. It was a team issue. Nobody was showing up except LeBron.

He was insane to close out last year...but the team lost like every game. ha. Look at his numbers for the final month. They were insane.
Not compared to this year. He's both taken it to another level and he now knows how to will a team to wins.

Last march 29.9/6.3/5.7 and a 6-9 record
This march 32.9/8.4/6.6 and a 10-4 record

Last year we came out of the all star break 1-6 and that snowballed to 11-19
This year we came out of the all star break 1-5 and LeBron said NO - this isn't happening again.

He tried to do that last year, but didn't know how. This year he does. Had he been able to do that last year, he wins MVP. It is absurd he's not getting more MVP talk this year. As recently as last weekend, ABC put a graphic up of MVP candidates. LeBron wasn't one of them - and this was the day after the 47/12/10 game where he again willed us to a win on national TV.

It isn't so much Lebron saying NO this year as our record is a lot easier, we got Flip at the deadline (instead of Newble at SG), and Z hasn't been hurt like last year

we had several close games last year that LeBron just didn't know how to win, this year he does. The same thing happened his rookie year - he didn't know how to stop the slide.
IMO, it is only one factor out of many. Lot easier to win close games against worst competition and a another explosive scorer on the court
