I'm confused as to what the rules are, and mostly WHY.

From what I understand, you can PM a link to friends, as ABM did, but he was banned anyway because he accidentally or maybe on purpose PM'd a mod.

He wasn't just spamming everyone because he didn't send me the link and apparently didn't send it to a lot of others here either.

I got the link from someone else and not only are there several well-known regulars from this board that have been posting simultaneously there for a year and more, but one of our community mods is a regular there too.

I was sent several other links by several posters BTW. So what? If I was looking to jump boards I know how to google.

Since it is permitted to have a link in your sig (therefore in every single post you make), it seems ridiculous to ban someone for simply putting it in the wrong place.

Am I missing something here?

Spamming & Solicitation - Multiple posting of identical or similar posts in one or more of our forums constitutes spamming. Posting multiple links to other “identical” sites or links to “join” other similar sites without prior approval also constitutes as spam and will be subjected to the removal of posting privileges.

Same ****; it's still a form of spam. You can't go around on THIS site to try and recruit members to ANOTHER site. Sorry.

Sorry TLong, but your semantics aren't going to change policy.

"Posts" are "messages" in themselves.
That's ridiculous. Apparently "policy" is however you admins/mods choose to interpret the rules. Posts are for public consumption. PM's are not. Your rules clearly refer to "posts", not "PM's".

You're right, it refers to posts, but I'm telling you it's the same ****. Any form of advertisement to another site (unless approved by the Admins) is not allowed. Deal with it.

Why don't you re-write the rules so they read that way then? And don't tell me to "Deal with it." either.

Gee, an appointed body of people to interpret laws and guidelines? That'll never work.

Whether you're posting privately or publicly, you're disseminating information. If that information is geared toward steering traffic away from the site, it's not going to be tolerated. But by all means, keep blubbering about it, preferably to the head guys at VerticalScope.

Because the mods abuse their powers and don't treat the Blazers board as royalty...you didn't know?
Do you understand how you, personally, are responsible for driving away Blazers fans with statements like this?

I don't ask that as an attack. I ask sincerely.

I can't tell if you are unaware or just ignorant in how to deal with people.

Given the odd and touchy nature of this board the last week, it seems the LAST thing you should do is be taking shots at an entire fan base... but what do I know?

Now I'm really confused!

The rules have hidden meanings?

What does the "P" in "PM" stand for anyway? (I assumed it stood for "PERSONAL", but that can't be it apparently)

Either the TOS language means something or it does not. If there is a policy of not allowing PMs containing certain types of information... by all means please let us know. But don't point to an inapplicable portion of the TOS and then act like it pertains.

If I PM a link to a porn site, does that count as a bannable offense? After all, I can't post a link to the porn site. If I PM a political argument to a Blazers fan, is that a bannable offense? After all, I can't post a political argument outside of that other forum.

It totally makes sense that a rule would be in place to prevent mass PMs to people to lure them away from this site... I don't blame anyone for thinking that's wrong. The rule cited, though, doesn't appear to be applicable and that it's being pointed out as seemingly insufficient doesn't appear to be "blubbering".
