Philadelphia 76ers center Todd MacCulloch had surgery on his left foot as treatment for a possibly career-ending neurological disorder.

The roughly two-hour surgery was performed Thursday in Baltimore, the team said Saturday. MacCulloch may undergo the same procedure, called tarsal tunnel release surgery, on his right foot if there is improvement with his left foot.

"The surgery went well," MacCulloch said in a statement. "They found some signs of compression that were released by the procedure. That should result in the relief of some of my symptoms. I am optimistic that I may see some improvement in the sensation of my feet."
