It was a great weekend for the Maine baseball and softball teams as they swept UMBC and Vermont respectively (Albany plays UMBC today in softball....the Danes will be tied with Maine if they win).

In baseball, Maine's freshman sensation Kevin McAvoy continues his torrid hitting. He was 8-13 with 5 RBIs over the weekend. On the season he leads the team with a .440 BA, 40 hits, 6 HRs, 36 RBI, and .736 SLG%. He most likely will be named the America East Rookie of the Week for the 4th time in 5 weeks later today.

And check out these other Maine freshmen:

Danny Menendez: .327 BA, 33 hits, 16 RBIs (starts at 2nd base, .982 FLD%)
Billy Cather: .303 BA, 20 hits, 9 RBIs (starts in RF)
Sean Parker: .241, 19 hits, 9 RBIs (starts at Catcher)
