Pitt hangs on 62-49. Not bad at all for Umaine to hang around like that with a Big East team, the score is similar to UNH's when they played down there last year. I appluad the effort by Maine tongiht.

Things of note from looking at the box score:

-Bruff replaced Freddy Petkus in the starting lineup, and Petkus only played 3 minutes. Could his back be acting up again?

-Maine led in rebounds 42-40(!)

-Phil Tcheckane-Bofia played 15 minutes and had 6 rebounds, so I guess he's back to 100% or at least close to it.

-Pitt star Carl Krauser was held to only 5 points on 2-12 shooting.

-Maine outscored Pitt 31-30 in the 2nd half.

considering that maine only lost by 13 in the end, this wasn't a bad showing, and as noted the fact that they outscored them in the 2nd half is a good sign for this maine team, good effort in their part.
