I'm calling it right now. He'll be a top 5 pick in next year's draft. Get him on your mocks. He's a 6'11" forward from Senegal who played for a club team in Germany last year. Recently he played at the adidas highschool camp and it was obvious that he was at least on the level of Kendrick Perkinds, Jackie Butler and the other elite post players in the class. Midaine has already received comparisons to another African post player, Hakeem Olajuwon, and also Kevin Garnett.

more stuff

"Another new name to know is 6-11, 220-pound postman Malick Badiane from Senegal, who arrived at adidas ABCD Camp on Tuesday after playing in the Global Games in Dallas for his home country. The native of Thies, Senegral, from a distance, would remind many of Kevin Garnett, who is an idol of many young African players. Badiane looked sensational in making an NBA move from the wing, jabbing his man, jab-stepping him again, created some space with the defender backing up and knocking down a sweet 3-pointer. And the athletic Badiane is tough, attacking the basket."

"We're talking about 6'11 Jr Maliak Badiame and, if we did include him in our pre-summer rankings, he'd probably be right up at the top of the list, along with Perkins and Butler. We haven't seen him yet, but Oak Hill head coach Steve Smith recently told us that he's been told Badiame is better than any of the previous three players - Kentucky's Jules Camara, Auburn's Abdou Diame, and 7'0 DeSagana Diop, who was a lottery pick in the NBA draft last week - that he's gotten from his Senegal-connection."

even more stuff

"Center Malick Badiane, a 6-11 center from Senegal, went from a little-known player to one of the best prospects at the position along with Kendrick Perkins and Jackie Butler with his performance at the adidas camp. He is probably going to go to Oak Hill Academy for his senior season and the head coach has said that he has heard from his connection in Senegal that Badiane is the best player he has sent him to date (better than Jules Camara and DeSagana Diop)."

"The 6-11 native of Senegal first caught the attention of American coaches with his play for the Senegal team at the Albert Schweitzer Games in Germany this spring. He showed up at adidas ABCD Camp, coming off the heels of representing Senegal in the Global Games in Dallas, and it didn't take much to show that he's an exceptional talent. Oak Hill, Winchendon or possibly Notre Dame Prep (Fitchburg, Mass.) have been mentioned as possible schools for Badiane this fall. And, the talk already is that he's not going to play collegiately, that he'll enter the NBA Draft after spending a year playing American high school ball. He's that good."

According to HoopScoop Badiane will attend Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg (MA). He's listed as a 5th year senior.

I doubt that he played at the ASG, because the Senegalese team didn't play on that turnament.
