well, i can't post full articles here, and the only link that i have for this article is to a yahoo group in which you have to be a member to read the article, but there's an article that says that mark jackson may get traded or sign with the nets. he lives in jersey (on the same block and city as kidd) and doesn't want to move to denver, so he's considered going to the nets to be a backup point guard for kidd. here's the link to the article, but like i said, i don't think that non-members can read the article - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NewJerseyNets/message/1813

Don't gy by numbers, Go by what he can do for the team? Is his style fit the team? Can he bring the energy off the bench? Can he play defense?

I'm probably a better player than Johnson.
If they need a backup point guard only plays about 10 minutes a game. We need defense, speed, able to knock down jumpers rather than the so called veteran leadership. Why would Mark jackson be traded by the Raptors if he was that the player he thinks he is?

I don't know. Why did the Raptors trade Staudemire? Or Camby? That doesn't prove anything. Anthony Johnson is horrible and you would be getting Jackson at a good price. Go for it.....

I'm done arguing.

Jackson will be totally useless on the Nets. He's 4th all time in assists and will bring leadership, but they don't need that on the Nets. Kidd should be playing as much as possible and there's no reason to pay another contract (don't know the price) but higher then Johnson's. Also his style of running the point was the problem he had with the Knicks, he can't keep up that speed, he's a slower type now.

He'll fit in better in Denver even if he's only to help out the younger players. His veteran leadership will help there and he'll be totally useless and just hurt New Jersey.

Dun go by reputations, go by what can the guy do for the team.

Mark Jackson Is SLOW

If you want to see a guy in the NBA play in slow motion, this is the guy. True, he once was a good player, and used his strength to exploit matchups, posting guys up etc. but now, he's terribly slow, he cannot guard the elite point guards in the league right now.

As for his leadership, how much do the Nets really need? They have Jason Kidd who is probably the best leader in the game today. He carried his team through much of the season. Do the Nets really need another voice in the locker room? One who hasn't even one a championship? Does playing in the league, but never really accomplishing anything make you a leader? I'd say no.
