Cameron in san diego is just what the padres need with that spacious outfield. Good move for them only having to give up an overated player in nady ( has been since his college days).

Nady was a top prospect about 3 or 4 years back. Had pretty good power numbers, walked alot, and didn't srike out much. But he hasn't really done anything special in the Majors. Has a good arm and is pretty versitale, he can play 1st, 3rd, or OF. Definately has some potential.

Xavier Nady is pretty good i live in san diego so im a padres and mets fan i think it was reported that if X nady played the whole season his numbers were going to be 30 Home runs , 90+ RBI's , and 300 average. I still will mis mike Cameron though

Interesting trade with future implications for both squads.

It also looks like the Mets are in hot pursuit of Florida first baseman Carlos Delgado.

RotoWire reports that the Mets plan on primarily using Nady as a first baseman thereby increasing the chances that New York would go after Manny. However if the 'Amazing's' were able to obtain Delgado I would assume the organization would move Nady to the outfield.

As for the Padres, as Petey mentions in another thread, could this spell the end to Brian Giles career as a Padre.

In a fairly weak free agent market Giles certainly is in the upper echelon of the group.

Alright im from San Diego but im a die hard mets fan ( as you can tell ) my second Favorite team is the padres so let me tell you guys something about nady He didnt play much but he did put up good numbers for what he played if he was playing the whole season he was on pace for 30+ home runs , 95+ Rbi's and a 300 + average. so i guess it was a good trade and also they said we might use him for a trade for manny or delgado. On the mets site it says delgado is next i hope it is true and New York you need to start calling Xavier Nady X nady or just X thats how it was down here

well. he was on pace to finish with whatever average he had. that would be a .261 average. and i doubt he would be getting over 600 at bats which would put him under 25 home runs and about 80 rbis.
