MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves can extend their home winning streak to eight games on Saturday when they conclude a three-game homestand against the Miami Heat at the Target Center.

The Timberwolves have won seven consecutive home games since losing to the Golden State Warriors here on December 9. They are 11-5 at home this season to go with the league's second-best road record.

Minnesota moved a season-high 12 games over .500 with a 96-75 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.

Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 14 rebounds and Latrell Sprewell scored 19 of his 25 points in the first half for the Timberwolves, who have won 14 of their last 17 games overall.

Sam Cassell collected 10 points and 11 assists, but Minnesota lost forward Gary Trent, who did not play in the second half due to a sprained ankle suffered in pregame warmups.

Miami opened a season-high six-game road trip with a 103-94 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.

Lamar Odom had 22 points and 15 rebounds and Rafer Alston scored 17 for the Heat, who lost for just the fourth time in their last 10 games.

Eddie Jones collected 15 points and a season-high 11 assists as Miami played without rookie Dwyane Wade, who remained sidelined with a wrist injury.

The Heat have lost four of their last six games away from home to fall to 4-15 on the road this season.

Minnesota has won five of its last six meetings with Miami, including an 88-79 victory at American Airlines Arena on November 8.

our bench is the worst in the NBA.
and last night ewe only had Rafer as our only PG and played with only 8 players, i think or 9 players.
We really need to improve our bench.
