I'm in a conversation with some guys who are saying that the Heat's defense is a copy of Boston's. I don't believe that is true (Am I wrong?)

Also, others are arguing that the reason the Heat have a good defense is because they have superstar jumping out of the gym athletes in Wade and Bron.

I want to let them know that the Heat have been a very good Defensive team, even before the Big 3 era.

What are the stats that show that even in 08 and 09, pre big 3 era, that we were actually a good defensive team and where can I find these stats?

Thanks!

Regarding the schemes being a copy of Boston's, their's are based on Thibodeau's, who is a descendent from the Riley tree. I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

I didn't know that Thibs was a descendent of Riley. I thought he was a Rivers disciple but thanks for the info! Good to know!

EDIT: Just looked at Thibs' Wiki page, when did he cross path with Riles?
