MONTREAL (AP) - High-scoring Alexei Kovalev of the Montreal Canadiens is expected to miss three to four weeks after he has knee surgery Tuesday.
Kovalev is second on the team with 19 points, including seven goals in 18 games. He's a major cog on the first line - and on Montreal's top power-play unit - with captain Saku Koivu and fellow wing Richard Zednik.
The Canadiens, off to a 12-3-3 start and atop the tough Northeast Division, will be without Kovalev for the first time on Tuesday

I looked a bit more into but no one really was giving any other info on the whole thing. After the surgery we should know more about what was hurt in the knee.
