Most underrated play in the game...the layup

It's such a basic thing, but it can be done so creatively. I personally cannot dunk, so I pride msyelf on being able to do a few fancy layups. And personally, I think some of them are a lot funner, and more exciting to watch than big dunks. Ala the last D Wade layup where he got fouled and put up the sweet lookin layup, quite a bit of the VC layups. Not to mention they can be much more productive considering you will get fouled quite a bit when attacking the hoop.

Basically, what I'm getting after is...who do you think is the best lay-up...er in the leauge right now?

My vote would have to be with D Wade, but only by a small margin to VC. D Wade basically doesnt miss when he does his layups and he's one of the best in the buis about it. VC's look incredible when he can pull them off, mainly because he hangs in the air so long.

Who's your vote?

Wade cause he always pulls crazy mess with the and 1.
Wade and Tony Parker.
Half the time with Parker, I'm thinkin' there's no way he's getting that to go. But somehow he does.
Tony Parker may not be the fanciest but like Shaq he just gets the job done!

Flare - DWade and VC tied with MJ being the goat at the layup :)
Flip Murray's finishes have been opening my eyes lately.
Steve Nash too but he doesn't take as many.
Tony Parker. the man lives in the paint
Vince blows easy layups all the time. I think he's easily the most spectactular layup maker, but nowhere near the most consistent.
I love Steve Nash's layups.

Flip is a great finisher. Very smooth.
Tony Parker is one of the best, if not, the best.

I love Nash's left hand layup which he's been doing it very often recently.
VC makes the most difficult spectacular layups.

Cosign Wade and Tony. I don't like Kobe but he has some sweet layups here and there.
Lebron/Parker/Wade are like the top 3 scorers in the paint, no? And all 3 predominatly do it by layups. I think Wade maybe dunks it the most out of the 3. Parker has the best touch. Lebron has the most power. And Wade is like a mix of the two.

When healthy Manu Ginobilli is in this class.

That is somebody I was going to mention as well, he's a very good finisher around the hoop he always manages to twist his body just enough to get a nice shot off.
gino and tony.
In terms of putting it in every time, consistently, it's Tony Parker. He's got decent flare, but the man visits the paint every five minutes. Style-wise, T-Mac and Kobe got the sickest reverse layup in the league. The way they can swoop it under, windmill style, and bounce it in off the glass, is amazing. I know Vince has had his moments, along with Dwyane, but I think the small guards who got hops are the ones who have the most style when it comes to layups. Guys like Bash, TJ Ford, and CP3 are the ones you have to look for. Hell, even Andre Miller has a slight advantage over guys with height.
