Moving up in the draft??

With both the NO and MIL 1sts, the Hornets are in good position to move up in the draft should they want to.

Is there anyone in the consensus top 10 that Hornets fans or brass have been talking about? Both your picks should be mid teens.

Lamarcus Aldridge would be the perfect heir to PJ Brown. Loads of potential and would look nice playing next to West. I can definitely see Adam Morrison playing for the Hornets too. They need more of a consistent outside threat other than Paul and Morrison can give them that. Too bad they're gonna get picked so high that I don't think 2 mid-1st rounders could even land the Hornets a top pick. They might be better off holding on to those 2 picks.

I think you'd be surprised what those 2 pick might get you if they are say 12/13 and 15/17. There are going to be people that target players not based on their top 5-6. This draft goes pretty deep at the same level, even though there is not a super high level of talent at the front end.
yeah i say hold on to the 2 picks.. especially if they are indeed in the teens.. we can get 2 quality players and that sounds great to me..

I think the Hornets will keep both picks, and if they want to move up they will package a pick + a player IMO. That player more than likely could be JR even if i don't really like that idea, noone can't deny that JR has been in Scott's doghouse for quite a while. But he is getting some PT as of late so maybe the relation between JR and Scott is improving and he won't be traded this summer.

Concerning the draft, the Hornets clearly need a C and a perimeter player. If Claxton leaves, then some kind of combo guard (Mardy Collins, Randy Foye, Quincy Douby for example) would be great. If Claxton stays then i'd go for a swingman (Brandon Roy, Brandon Rush (?), Ronnie Brewer, Rodney Carney for example) since IMO our SG/SF positions are not that strong. Our Priority should be C though, if could get Tiago Splitter, Hilton Armstrong or Patrick O'Bryant that would be great.

BTW if the Hornets keep playing like crap there will be no need to move up.
Tiago Splitter IMO would be a nice fit in New Orleans if he can get out of his overseas contract. Andrea Bargnani is another nice fit, but he is a little too overhyped.
