MVP Race

this is the most accurate MVP predictor that i've seen...it multiplies the percentage of each player's production times their team wins...only 3 players outside of the top 3 have ever won: nash, iverson, and cousy...and to be honest none of them deserved it

here are the rankings thus far this year...i'm assuming pierce is somewhere in the next 5

46.5 Dirk Nowitzki
42.5 LeBron James
39.0 Tim Duncan
37.3 Dwyane Wade
36.3 Chauncey Billups
36.2 Shawn Marion
35.7 Elton Brand
33.9 Pau Gasol
33.0 Kobe Bryant
32.1 Jason Kidd

good idea
please refrain from changing my words around ever again
if Nash doesn't win i'm gonna hurt somebody.
awf, get over it...everyone knows that's actually not what you said. it's an effective technique.

steve nash is not more valuable than dirk, lbj, duncan, wade, brand, among others. he already has won one more MVP than he deserves.

see? it's fun. even funner when you're clever with it.

Funner isn't a word.

And also, why isn't Nash in there? He is my far and away MVP this year. He's lead his team pretty much by himself into the play-offs.
because people give him more credit for the suns' success than he deserves. and you might or might not have heard of shawn marion.

dirk has done more with less, no question about it.
If Jason Kidd didn't deserve it his first year in NJ, then Nash didn't deserve it last year nevermind winning it again this year.

BTW, who's "Cousy?" in the top 10?

i'm talking about people who finished outside the top 3 in their respective MVP seasons.

the 3rd ranked guy has only won 2 or 3 times, IIRC.

every other time it's been either the #1 or 2 guy according to this formula, most often the #1.
Nash definitely deserves it, Kobe as a runner-up, everyone else no way.
if it was the Most Outstanding PLayer award then you might have an arguement delonte...but its the Most Valuable Player...and noone in the league other than Nash can make complete bums play like stars...for example...Quentin Richardson last year led the league in 3s or somethign liek that and was putting up amazing numbers...put him with marbury and he has multiple games where he puts up 2 to 5 points...yet the "awful" Boris Diaw comes from atlanta where he sucked and now is a triple double threat every night...Raja Bell playing better than hes ever played before...coincidence?...i dont think so...if they didnt have nash they would be bums too...id give the MVP to the person that makes the other 4 guys on his team better rather than the better player like dirk or kobe etc because they dont make anyone else better the way nash does
Too much credit is given to Nash and not Mike D'Antoni, the best offensive coach in the NBA. Nash's game improved greatly under D'Antoni.
Nash had a great offensive coach in Dallas with Don Nelson.
Nelson's offensive system is much different from the Phoenix system, in which thrives in. D'Antoni, formerly a Benetton Treviso coach in the Italian League, uses the fast-paced impulse system common in international ball. A point guard with distribution and shooting talent is the focus of a team with good shooters at the wing positions and face-up big men who are versatile and have range. He describes it as a "freewheeling offensive style."
LOL you are OBSESSED w/ hoops, man. I mean how do you know this stuff? :whofarted:
