This is based on what I've seen from the teams and who I'd favor if they were playing tonight.

1. Connecticut
2. Providence
3. Pittsburgh
4. Syracuse
5. Seton Hall
6. Notre Dame
7. Villanova
8. Boston College
9. Rutgers
10. Miami
11. Georgetown
12. West Virginia
13. Virginia Tech
14. St. John's

I'm pretty confident that SJU and WVU will miss the MSG event. WVU has surprised me some but I still don't think they are better than Gtown or Miami without Schifino. At the top, I like Providence more than most people but I think 2 through 4 are pretty close.

Top 5 are locks for NCAA's.

nicely done, the only one i would even think about changing would be Pitt and providence especially if providence loses to seton hall on sunday. I agree that St. Johns will miss the BE tournament and probably va tech as well.

I understand most people would have Pitt above Prov but Friars have been on a tear and Pitt hasn't impressed me that much. I look forward to the Pitt-Providence game.

Pitt hasn't impressed me
What's it gonna take man . We beat Syracuse pretty sizably if I'm not mistaken at the Carrier Dome. Pitt doesn't put up big numbers/scores and they don't have a flashy player because they are a strong defensive unit....people underestimate Pitt because of that.

Almost beat Georgetown  St. John's sucks flat out this year. They are the worst team in the Big East and it really isn't that close.

Did you even follow basketball last week. Obviously you did not.

Pitt played UConn very tough on the road, lost by 3.

Pitt destroyed SU on the road, a big time *** kicking. It was embarrasing as an SU fan.

If I had just watched last week, which should I change? Providence won at Uconn, Cuse got pounded by Pitt. Pitt lost to Uconn.

Steve, I certainly respect and do not strongly disagree with your assesment of Providence over Pitt.

It is your comment that "Pitt hasn't impressed me" that puzzled me.

That's kind of a flawed logic. You can't use team A beat team B who beat team C.

Because if that's the case, then Rutgers should be on top of Providence.

I think Providence is right up there and probably 1a and 1b with Pitt, but to just say that Providence is better is not really an astute observation because they haven't played yet this year, but they do play in Providence. If the Friars win, they will prove to be the best, but Pitt is a very strong basketball (as I predicted before the year began).

Syracuse is the most overrated team in America. Period.

How they stayed in the top 25 for that long is hard to fathom...

I like Virginia Tech actually. I think they can knock a few teams off in the Big East tournament. If they get their for once. Bryant Mtthews is really good. I think of him as a poor man's Melo.

Maybe becasue they were 13-1, on a 13 game winning steak only three weeks ago. Not top 25?

Maybe because only three games ago they 14-3  Although I admit after 17 games there were some big flags.

It's not hard to fathom.

They are out of the top 25 - they have now earned that dishonour.
