Offseason-time, and everybody's talking, creating rumors. And there are always the big names going around, like Iverson, Garnett, Miller, Spreewell, Stackhouse, Robinson, Payton a.s.o. All of them All-Stars, some even Franchise-players. Very, very exciting time, this offseason.
But you know what?
It's all just a big hype, and it's not gonna happen. You have to adjust at the fact, that the biggest things already have been made. I'm talking about the McDyess-Trade, which was, I have to admit, a big thing, that I hadn't expected. But that's it. There won't be much more big trades. Because in the NBA 3K, you just have one way to acquire a Franchise-player, you'll have to draft him. The other little chance is to get him via FA, but don't count on that, the chance is very small, because through the Salary Cap, most good players have to sign with their old team, which is a good thing.
So there haven't been that much Blockbuster Trades in the last 10 years, so it should be easy to name THE Blockbuster Trade:
My nominies are:
01: J.Kidd for S.Marbury
02: C.Barkley for S.Cassell and R.Horry
03: D.Mutombo for T.Ratliff and T.Kukoc
04: C.Webber for M.Richmond
05: J.Kidd for S.Cassell and M.Finley
06: A.McDyess for M.Camby and #7
07: C.Drexler for O.Thorpe
08: G.Rice for E.Jones and E.Campbell

any other ideas?

I personally think Traylor for Nowtizki was the most lop sided trade ever.

Yea, they've probably kicked themselves every day since that trade. Thats whats hard to know though, who was to say Dirk would turn out to be the man he is, or a bust. I for one had no idea he would be this good. Im waiting to see how these Euro's do this year, I dont see Tiskisvilli, however you spell it, being a huge impact player. He barley even played on the team he was on, why would he play more in the pros? But then again, they hire scouts for a reason, so I guess Ill have to wait and see. Oh yea, and just a heads up JBH, good post buddy.

Tskitishvili didn't play because of some Veteran Rule they have over there...dont' ask me why, but the say he has everything besides defense...but all euro's hardly have defense...just the type of ball they play.

Oh, didnt know that. Guess it wont be hard finding minutes for him on the Nuggets though. IMO Hillario could be the better of the 2. He looks like he could do some damage in a few years.

Yeah, I expect both to dominate soon. The Nuggets won't do anything for 4 years, though.

Yea, true. They have potential, but thats all. I hope for their sake they keep most of the guys they have right now. Could develope into a playoff team with a trade or 2.

Again...

Which one was the biggest Trade (I mean with the biggest names, not the most players or so...) of the last 10 years?

I'd pick J.Kidd for S.Marbury:
When the Trade went down, both were Top3-Point Guards.

The biggest trade was probably the one you mentioned. Jersey had a complete turnaround, while Phoenix didn't even make the playoffs. Marbury and Kidd have different games, I have heard Marbury will "try" to become a team player.

that's funny...

After 6 seasons in the league, he had realized that basketball is a team-sport! Very funny.

Well, actually devestata, if you read what I said, I said that it was a blockbuster deal. When did I say that it was lop-sided? This thread is about blockbuster trades, it isn't about lop-sided trades.

One of the biggest trades noones mentioned was the ALonzo Mourning-Glen Rice trade, which was probaly bigger than the Kidd-Marbury trade. Zo was the start of a new Miami team and he helped them become one of the easts best teams the next 5 years.

How bout the Vince Carter/Antawn Jamison 1998 Draft Day trade. That one sticks out in my mind, because it was typical of the Golden State organization. They give up Vinsanity and cash for the overpaid Jamison...that's great. And we all saw how Vince took the league over and made his team good, while Jamison didn't do a d**n thing.

Here are some more memorable trades in the last 5 years:

Sacramento gets Webber
Washington gets Richmond & Otis Thorpe
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mavericks get Steve Nash from the Suns, and give up Muursepp, Garrity, their first round draft pick and some other schmuck. Nash becomes an All Star.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charlotte receives Mashburn, PJ Brown, Thorpe, Tim James, Buford
Miami receives Eddie Jones, Anthony Mason, Dale Ellis, Ricky Davis
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Detroit gets Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins
Orlando gets Grant Hill
* Funny how Detroit ends up getting the better end of this deal
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and what about Vancouver being forced to trade Stevie Franchise to the Rockets:

Rockets got Francis & Massenburg
Grizzlies got Dickerson, Othella Harrington, Brent Price, Antoine Carr and a couple of picks
----------------------------------------------------------------
Detroit also traded Bonzi to Portland on Draft Day for a conditional 1999 1st round draft choice that ended up being a late first round pick with Portland's record in 1998. Bonzi will be a star in years to come.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Philadelphia gets Ratliff and Aaron McKie
Detroit gets Stackhouse & Montross

Cleveland gets Kemp
Milwaukee gets Terrell Brandon and Tyrone Hill
Seattle gets Vin Baker

I totally forgot this Orlando-Detroit trade! 2 years ago it was like a top10-player (Hill) for 2 nobodys...
Looking back, if Orlando had kept Wallace, they would be probably be the best team in the NBA, with plenty of cap-room to sign both T.Duncan AND Kidd
Just imagine a lineup of Wallace/Duncan/Miller/McGrady/Kidd...
